Concord & 9th are celebrating their first birthday so I used one of their stamp sets to create a birthday card for them. The stamp set is called Eat Cake & Celebrate. I am entering this card in the Mod Squad Blog Challenge in which one is to use a bordered sentiment but no flowers on the card.
First in the approximate center of my white panel I stamped the sentiment. First in multi-colors by using a Kalaidacolor rainbow dye ink pad called Birthstone. I then re-stamped over it with black so that it appeared to be a shadow of multi-colors.
My next step was to to take a ruler and a black Bic Mark-it pen and draw lines above and below to create a border. I then masked off the sentiment with Post-It notes and proceeded to stamp the stacked birthday cakes and sprinkle of stars patterns with the multi-colors ink pad.
Once I had my panel stamped I layered it to black card stock before adding it to the base card of light turquoise card stock.
This was a pretty easy way to create a colorful birthday card. I hope Concord & 9th have many more birthdays in their future.
Thanks for visiting and I love all the comments you leave.
God bless,
Verna

Well that's YUMMY! Love the collage of cakes on your background and your bordered sentiment....perfect!
Nothing says Happy Birthday, like some birthday cake. Great idea to put that on the background. You never know how many flower stamps that you have until you can't use them. Love your take on this challenge. Thanks so much for joining us at The Mod Squad this week.
