The Double D's Challenge this week is to use polka dots so I created a card for Halloween and used die cuts and polka dot pattern paper. This is the card I will enter in their challenge. I am also entering this in the Scrapy Land Blog Challenge-Anything Goes.
My first step was to sponge a background on white card stock by including a moon in the sky with a masking technique. Then over the top of that background I added my die cut images.
I die cut the cat, leaves and the saying out with various colors of card stock, but the Jack-O'Lantern was die cut on white and then I colored it with Bic Mark-It pens. I replaced the negative pieces in the cat and the pumpkin. And the sentiment and the tie were made to look like polka dots by using a white paint pen and adding them. I also used the paint pen to add a bit to the eyes and to the nose on the cat. The pattern paper I chose had a polka dot design and was part of the Zoology Collection by Bo Bunny.
The Cheery Lynn Dies used are:
Jack-O'Lanterns B594
Whimsical Cat B850
Flourish Leaf Strip B178
So fun working with these dies. I enjoyed my afternoon and know I will be using these dies many times again.
Thanks for dropping in and for all the wonderful comments you leave.
God bless,
Verna
