I was cleaning off my crafting end of the kitchen table when I ran across this darling Penny Black design called Nature's Best. I also used part of a Penny Black sentiment from another set called Caroling Penguins. I thought the Joy from the sentiment would be perfect for this CAS design.
I stamped the design on white card stock with Memento black ink and then took the stencil from Picket Fence Studios and used my Life Changing Blender Brushes to fill in the background around the bird and holly image in a light blue. Then with a combination of Copics and sponging I finished coloring the rest of the design. This panel was then die cut with a MFT Di-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stacker die and then added to a red card base. To finish the card I took a white paint pen and added just a dot to each berry to make it look like it was shiny. And, of course, I added a white panel inside so I could write or stamp a message.
I am entering this in the Penny Black Creative Christmas Challenge.
Thanks for visiting and I wish you a great weekend.
God bless,
Verna

Joy is all that is needed for this sweet image and you have done it well. Penny Black has some great stamps.
This is so pretty Verna. I love how you colored it.
What a sweet little image this one is! Love the simple "Joy" with it too! Beautiful coloring and the white highlighting of the berries!
Oh, my! I'm glad you came across this beautiful stamp. I adore anything with birds, and this one is perched so sweetly on the holly branch. Lovely coloring and shading.
Hello, Verna! Your card is beautiful! I love this gorgeous stamp and how you coloured it and inked the background! Such a pretty card!
I wanted to pop in and say thank you so much for the kind words you left on my blog - they are appreciated. I hope to get back to crafting and blogging in a few weeks, after Brian gets discharged from the rehab hospital, and I look forward to catching up with your blog then. The Cat Lovers Hop was a wonderful distraction for me, but I'll be back on the bus to the city tomorrow - uh, I just dread the long trip but I know there's an end in sight and Brian will be home again soon!
Hugs,
Kitty
Somehow I almost missed this one, but I just love that image within the circle of blue! The stitching looks so pretty and it all looks perfect on the red card base!
Beautiful card Verna, love the sponged circle against the white. It really makes it all pop.
