October Twofers

That time again! Darnell's new Twofer Card Challenge #10-Harvest is now ongoing and I had to join in on the fun! Since we find we are now bringing in all of the garden crop I thought some pumpkins might work for the harvest theme. We did not grow pumpkins but we did grow squash but I did not have any squash stamps to work with. So pumpkins will have to do. I don't have a carrot stamp either. LOL

I chose to use the Gina K. Designs Always Autumn stamp set for my pumpkin/sunflower image and the leaves. The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment is also from that set. But the sentiment on the sympathy card is from A Jillian Vance Design set called Simply Said: Sympathy.

I die cut this Thanksgiving card out with a My Favorite Things Die-namics die called Wonky Stitched Rectangles. I also cut another piece of the ivory card stock to place inside the card for a liner so I can add a message.

I had never made a sympathy card using a pumpkin and sunflower before but since this is the season for those items to be harvested I decided it would work and I was in need of a sympathy card anyway. I also used a My Favorite Things Die-namics die called Stitched Rounded Rectangles for this card and die cut a panel for the inside as well.

Both cards are fairly CAS in design but I just love this pumpkin/sunflower image and decided it was pretty enough on it's own without a lot of extra details.

Well, I wish you all a wonderful rest of the day and evening. It is a chilly one here but we have seen the sunshine so we are feeling a little more rejuvenated. Thanks for stopping in and for the wonderful comments.

God bless,
Verna

I think pumpkins say Harvest and these are colored so well, Verna. I love the wonky stitched mat and beautiful fall card stock.

I love these pumpkins, too! The image is large enough to stand alone on a CAS card. Just the way I like it! It does work as a sympathy card for this time of year.

These are quite lovely, Verna. Those fluttering leaves look amazing with those sweet pumpkins, and the sunflower is delightful. I do like the idea of using the pumpkins and flowers for a Fall sympathy card, too. Everything is colored so well, and the bases and dies you've chosen are perfect with these images. Thank you so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge! Bev

Love both of these colorful Pumpkin 2fers. I've never seen pumpkins as a sympathy theme either, but I think it worked very nicely here with the seasonal theme. I like the rounded corners, stitching, and personally, I think a bereaved person would be uplifted to receive a card that is just like this...too many are in sombre colors and one already feels sad. So it's nice to get one like this, that is more uplifting with color and reminds you of a rebirth! Well done, Verna. Clever idea. TFS & Hugs

Every time I see your entry for the Twofor challenge I want to enter, and then I never do. What is my problem, these cards are so stinking cute.

Such a wonderful image and the colouring looks great. I do so love the tumbling leaves on your first card. Yes the sympathy card really does work with the image on the second one x. Had a little chuckle about you having no squash or carrot stamps x.

Your autumn-inspired colors and pretty image work so well to make two great Harvest designs, Verna! I love the colored card bases with the stitched panels and the way you have your leaves fluttering about on your Thanksgiving card! And I think it's very fitting to use your pumpkins and sunflowers for a comforting sympathy card this time of year. Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #10! Hugs, Darnell

Fabulous way to use one image for two different cards. I love when you can use a stamp several different way. Love how you added the leaves for the Thanksgiving card and the larger sentiment for the sympathy one. Beautiful cards Verna

Beautiful pumpkin images, Verna. They are coloured up so nicely and you have made two lovely cards.
This is such a busy time of year for farmers and veggie gardeners. All that freezing, dehydrating, and canning to be done.
