Monochromatic Card

The new monthly challenge at Stamp TV is to make a monochromatic Christmas card. So I pulled out the snowflakes again from the Gina K. Designs Fruit of the Season Kit and made this card.

I used three different shades of blue inks and did the first inking in a lighter color and then with the other ink cubes I added a middle shade and then a darker shade. I simply tapped the last two colors here and there on the stamps which I had in my MISTI. That way I could always add more color if I wanted. Once the background was finished I die cut it with a Memory Box Cross Stitched Border die.

The ribbon I added had little flecks of metallic threads in it and they gave off an iridescent glow so I also added some gems that gave an iridescent look too. In the top photo you can see them glow a bit better.

I also die cut a white panel with the cross stitch die to place inside the card so that I can stamp a message and write a little note.

I am  entering this in the Dies R Us Challenge #108 in which we are to use a die with stitches.

Well, no snow for real here but we are getting rain. It is a dreary day. I hope where you are that regardless of the weather you are having a great one. Thanks for coming by and for the comments.

God bless,
Verna

What a beautiful monochromatic Christmas card Verna! Love the dark blue tone you've selected and that sentiment is so gorgeous! I've seen this sentiment on several cards but in slightly different fonts. This font is quite gorgeous. Beautiful finishing with the bow too. Have a beautiful weekend Verna. Hugs.

I'll take the hug...but don't send the blizzard...

We used to live in the Kootenays, an area of the Rocky Mountains with winter temps down to 45 below and lots of wind, white outs and blizzards. I have finally escaped that area...don't send me back! teehee

Great card, Verna!

Gorgeous snowflakes and they're a perfect choice for the monochromatic challenge. Rich blue card base and pretty ribbon, and I adore the sentiment. Looks like a rainy day here so I hope to spend it in my happy place.

Very pretty and love the colors of blue for the snowflakes...you have some awesome stamp sets! We have snow predicted for this weekend, makes me worry about the little outside kitties, thought they have lots of beds and shelter!
