I already had the Gina K. Designs Watercolor Flowers Stamp set handy from the previous post so with that set I also made a Mother's Day card only this time I used Tim Holtz watercolor paper to stamp my design on.
I put the card stock in my Misti and that way I could do repeated stampings as I used the rough side of the watercolor paper. First I added the GKD Wild Dandelion ink to the stamp and then spritzed the stamp with a shot of water before adding it to the card stock. Then I did the same thing with the GKD Dusty Rose ink on the rest of the flower. I used the little ink cubes so it is easier to add ink to just certain areas. And, even if some of the color runs that is still okay as it looks more like real watercoloring. I also used two shades of green on the stems and leaves. Namely, GKD Lucky Clover and Key Lime using the same water sprtizing and inking technique.
I used the GKD large circle die for the first layer and for the second layer in black I used the Cottage Cutz double stitched circle die. I added these layers to a Dusty Rose gingham paper from the GKD Petals & Wings paper pack. Then before adding the panel to the base card of white I layered it to black card stock and then added a black and white gingham ribbon. The sentiment was stamped in black ink on the pattern paper and is from the GKD Elegant Florals 2 stamp set. The last thing I added was some Hero Arts black enamel dots.
Well, same old weather....windy and drifting snow. Schools mostly all closed again. I am sure the kids will be using some of their summer vacation for school sessions this year. Our road below our house drifts shut every day and if we need to get out it has to be blown open and you hope it will be open enough when you get back home again so that you can get through it. Sure want Spring to arrive soon.
Thanks for visiting. I hope everyone's week is off to a great start.
God bless,
Verna

Your card is pretty and spring like, at least! We got heavy snow overnight, but it was clear before morning so they just had a school delay. This snow is way too heavy to drift! Supposed to get bitter cold soon.
Pretty card, Verna! I like the checked paper and gorgeous flowers!
Beautiful card, Verna! Love the water color effect you achieved with the spritzing!
Gorgeous card, Verna. The gingham makes a lovely background for the beautiful image. xx
Very pretty watercolored flowers.... Definitely a touch of spring in your card Verna
This is a cheerful ray of sunshine! I love the two ginghams together. I'll bet your very ready to see the last of the snow!
What a bright and happy spring card this is. I love the gingham background and varigated flowers. The black c/s brings it some pop. So much snow this year! I'm tired of winter and can't wait for spring.
Fab card. I adore the gingham background too.
Beautiful technique... love the way these flowers came out... I need to try this!
The gingham background is perfect for your focal flower image. Beautifully designed as always Verna.
What a pretty card! I like all the details you added.
Love this design with the gingham.
Another striking card. I think you are so very talented. Thanks for playing along at Gina K. Designs.
Pretty card and great technique for the watercolored flowers. The gingham background sets off the focal image perfectly.
