March Twofer Card Challenge #14

Yes, indeed! I am joining in Darnell's Twofer Challenge #14 that she started a little over a year ago. It is so fun! It is a challenge that gets my Muse working too! I hope you like my projects I did for this round. The theme this month is to use Balloons.

I used a new set of watercolor markers from Arteza. When there were Cyber Monday sales going on I got them for a fantastic bargain at Amazon. So this was their first outing. They have a great range of colors.

The birthday card used the balloons and sentiments from the Stamplorations Big Grins A Snarky Birthday to You stamp set. I stamped several of the balloon images in a row and after coloring them I fussy cut the top part and then die cut the design with a Memory Box Cross Stitched Border die so that the sides and bottom only cut. Next I placed them on a Gina K. Designs Jelly Bean Green card base. The sentiments were stamped in black and also die cut with the cross stitched border die from white card stock. These were then layered to some GKD Lucky Clover card stock before placing onto the card front.

For the Easter card I used a basket, chocolate rabbit and sentiment from Gina K. Designs. And then I took the balloons and laid the image on it's side and used them for eggs in the basket. The basket, rabbit and the balloons were fussy cut and then assembled over the white card panel which was in turn die cut with a Unbranded scalloped stitched die. All was added to a Gina K. Designs Dusty Pink card base and the last thing I did was add a ribbon bow from White Rose Crafts, LLC. I used one of the bows from the Papermania DoCrafts Neon Ribbon Collection. They are nice and flat and work so well on cards.

And that my friends is my Twofers for March. I was so happy I had all the elements handy for making two great looking cards even if I did get the Happy Birthday image a little crooked. It still worked for me. In my old age I don't always get things aligned like I used to do. And, the hands shake now and then so the coloring is not always spot on either. But even so I am content and happy to be able to do what I can still do. So God is good!

Thanks for visiting and I look forward to seeing all your wonderful comments too.

God bless,
Verna

Amen, sister! The key to life is being contented with whatever is on one's plate, both figuratively and literally. Besides, a lot of our card recipients are friends our own age so they won't notice the little imperfections we do, lol! I certainly didn't notice any with these two incredible designs! I love the coloring of the birthday card and, of course, karacked up over that snarky sediment! Love it! And you are uber clever with your second design using the balloons as Easter eggs! Fantastic! Love the basket, chocko bunny, and border, too! Thank you so much, Verna, for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #14 and being such an enthusiastic supporter! Hugs, Darnell

I sure don't see any imperfections! What I see is a very clever set of cards with a whole bunch of balloons and a funny sentiment on one and not a balloon in sight on the other. Wait, what? I cannot believe how much those balloons resemble Easter eggs. I never would have thought. Now I'm thinking I have a basket die and my balloons and a couple of bunny dies... This craft is too much fun, isn't it? I agree wholeheartedly that we're lucky to love what we do no matter what. Enjoy, and I'm so glad to see you at Twofer. You were fast this month, Verna!

What great colorful and happy cards. I loved that you put the eggs on a jelly bean green background. That Easter basket reminds me of days long gone by. Excellent job on this one and I agree that Life is so good.

LOL! Can you hear me giggling all the way in Florida, Verna? First of all, the "Twofer" challenge has me thinking HOW CLEVER and ISN'T SHE SOMETHING! Not only are your card designs beautiful, but so imaginative! The bunches of partially cut out balloons is a marvelously creative design technique, (especially paired with your humorous sentiment), and the chocolate Easter Bunny peeking around those "Easter" eggs is a genius idea! Fantastic shiny flecks in the bunny's eyes, and terrific colors. Great cards, Verna... and now... I must go in search of some dark chocolate... (giggle). hugs, de

Two great designs and a clever way to use balloons for eggs. I love the sentiment on the birthday card. I love those funny sayings. An adorable chocolate bunny too. I can relate to crooked. It looks fine to me since most of my sentiments on cards are crooked, that's how I'm used to seeing things so it looks perfectly normal to me.

I have to say that I laughed out loud when I read the sentiment on your birthday card! What a hoot! Great use of those NBUS markers and I do love the bright colors of your birthday balloons! Oh so clever, too, to use the balloons as Easter eggs to fill that basket. So sweetly colored and fun. What child wouldn't love to find this on Easter morning?! Such pretty colored card stock too. Thanks for joining us at the Twofer Challenge! Bev
