Back To Nature

I was so enthused about using items from nature as elements on a card in some form or the other that my hubby went out and brought in a few juniper branches for me to use as stamps. Here is how I used one of the backgrounds I made using those junipers.

I thought when the juniper was used for a stamp on the Ivory card stock that it resembled ferny leaves so I added some flowers from the Gina K. Designs Bitty Blossoms set. They were colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I fussy cut them out and then layered them into a design in the bottom corner of the stamped juniper panel which was die cut with a Gina K. Designs small double stitched rectangle and then placed onto a layer of another die cut panel using the Gina K. Designs large stitched rectangle. The final panel layer was die cut using a Cottage Cutz double stitched rectangle die. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. All of this was placed onto an Ivory card base to complete the card.

I am entering this in the Mod Squad Challenge-Back to Nature.

Thanks for visiting and I hope your day is going well.

God bless,
Verna

Thudville! Amazing idea! I love the smell of juniper (within reason) and that print is subtle and elegant. Lovely coloring on the bitty blossoms! What a card!!!

What a delightful use of natural elements, Verna! I used to do that on occasion as well, but we always set up a card table outside, because we have so many tiny bugs here, and the seasons never seem to kill them off. So that's where I did mine. That juniper is lovely! Ours are much more prickly - like "sand spurs" to the feel. LOL What I especially like are your amazingly colorful flowers, dancing in the foreground of the fabulous greenery! Wishing you a very happy Saturday! hugs, de

Very pretty Verna! I thought maybe your flowers were “real”! Maybe because I used some purple flowers on one of my cards.
