Remember the last post I did was using the Four Leaves freebie given to those who belonged to the Artsystamper Facebook page. Well, when the internet was down yesterday I used it again and this time created a Christmas card design. I really like it too!
I added four sets of the leaves to my page starting with a larger one and then gradually going down in size. Also on the same page I added the sentiment which is by Donna Ellis. She always has such nice fonts when she makes sentiments and this is one I thought would work for any occasion.....even Christmas.
I printed out the leaves and proceeded to color them with my Bic Alcohol markers. Next I fussy cut each one and layered them together to create a poinsettia. Poinsettias are really a cluster of leaves and not really a flower. But I still refer to them as a flower.
I added some pattern paper from Gina K. Designs to a white card base and then to that I added the sentiment which was die cut with Gina K. Designs double stitched square die and then layered to a Gina K. Designs single stitched die which makes just the perfect green border when placed together. The layout was then ready for the addition of the poinsettia. I added some light yellow pearls to the center to make it look more realistic. A little strip of the pattern paper inside the card finished it. And, that is my Christmas leaves card.
I am entering this in the following challenge:
Double D Challenge-Use Stitches
Yesterday the internet was down almost all day except for a 15 minute stretch. So this morning my inbox was so full of emails with all the wonderful posts you card makers had done but I am afraid I had to just look and leave for most of them as this morning it was still in and out. So even though I did not always comment I did look and you all did awesome work making great creations. So forgive me for not commenting. I hope this works long enough to get this posted. We have such humid weather which messes with satellite systems like ours. So take care everyone and thanks for visiting.
God bless,
Verna

Beautiful Christmas card, Verna. Loving that magnificent Poinsettia! Yes, I agree about Donna's wonderful creations too, looks fab in that stitched die! Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Double D, Stitches Challenge, Donna, DT Member.
This is a real stunner! Gorgeous poinsettia with those gold beads in the center! Bummer about your internet :(
Your poinsettia is just spectacular, my friend. I am blown away by your coloring here, you are a Bic Master. I love everything you do with those markers. Wonderful design too, well done!!!
You made a fabulous Christmas card from the leaves. Very creative, but I know that already. Thanks for joining in the fun at Double D Challege.

This is beautiful, Verna, and very creative! I applaud you for making Christmas cards. I can't get in that frame of mind yet. It's been in the 90's this week and miserable. Stay safe!
What a beautiful Christmas card! You are clever to make the poinsettia with the digital leaves. I love the sentiment, too.
Really gorgeous, Verna! You can get so far behind when the internet is down. Sometimes it's a respite, but then there's catch up time. Good luck!
Fabulous use of the leaves Verna, and an amazing card as a result - that sentiment is gorgeous, and as you say, so versatile.
Stay safe
Blessings
