The theme at the Mod Squad Blog Challenge this week was to make a background for a card by any method as long as it was not a pre-printed one. I chose to use an embossing folder to which I added inks and then spritzed with water before I placed my card stock on it. The folder I used was Seeing Spots by Cuttlebug.
The color of ink used on my background was Gina K. Designs Wild Lilac and I added it to Gina K. Designs White card stock. Also used for the "Love Arrangement" die by Die-namites was Gina K. Designs Edible Eggplant card stock. It was backed up on a sheet of Gina K,'s Wild Lilac card stock. I used Edible Eggplant to frame the panel from leftovers by making just a corner design. My sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Birthday Blessing set and was inked up with Edible Eggplant. After combining all the layers onto the base of white card stock I then finished it off by adding a ribbon bow at the bottom.
I am cleaning up my work space this week and since I ran across all of these things I had done previously but not used I decided they could work together for a nice card design if I were creative enough to get the leftovers to stretch. I am happy with it and not only am I getting some cleaning done I am also getting some creative fun in.
Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for the lovely comments.
God bless,
Verna

Such a pretty card Verna. My favourite colour... beautiful die and love your layers.
Amazing card- love it!
Gorgeous card Verna! Love the colors and love the die. I hate cleaning my space, once done I can never find anything :)
Very pretty card using up things on your desk. I love wheni am able to do that. You have reminded me that purple is a spring color too.
All your layering works so wonderfully, my dear. I love your layout and the way you placed the eggplant card stock. Great background, and the beautiful die cut focal is just gorgeous! And I noticed that sweet ribbon right away - the perfect final touch!!! Great take on the challenge, well done!
Great card. I love the purple and all the layering. I am doing some cleaning too and I keep finding all those parts and pieces of different projects that I did not have the heart to throw away at the time. Some I look at and throw away and some get back in the box. I should be like you and use them... Thanks for the inspiration.
Love that center die -- really pretty card~
how lovely and springy, Verna! (cannot go wrong with purple or lavender!) xo
Great card! I love the way you used up leftover scraps by adding the corner backing.
Beautiful background...love the monochromatic look. That's a very pretty purple too!
Super background Verna! Love the purple! Hope you doing better! HUGS!
Verna, I love how you inked the embossing folder! It made a fabulous background. Beautiful card.
Great looking card. Thanks for joining us at The Mod Squad Challenge.
Beautiful. One of my favourite colours .
Flawless layering and your choice of colours is perfect for this soft and feminine card. The sheer bow is a lovely touch, Verna,
