I have not done a lot of gatefold cards but I find they are pretty easy and I hope I pulled it off with this one I did using a stencil and a stamp. And since we had no water with the pump going out I could not do many chores such as laundry and dishes until it was fixed. So why not make a card, right?
The first thing is that you take a Scor-Pal and on a piece of 4 14 x 5 1/2 card stock score at 2 1/8th on both edges.
Then you fold the flaps on each side together so that they look like the photo below.
Then I took a piece of paper and stuck it inside the folded card so that when I stenciled it would not get any smearing on the inside. I adhered the stencil down with some removable purple tape and then with my brushes added the dahlia design.
I stamped a sentiment onto a circle to which I had added some yellow ink and then I layered it to a circle of red. I also added a few red rhinestones. This was placed on the card but I only added 3-D foam squares on the left side. When added to the card it should look like this photo below.
The last step I did was to wrap a piece of ribbon around the card and I used that as a means of holding the card shut so that it would lay flat in an envelope and also look great with the added decoration.
And that is my gatefold card. I did not stamp anything inside as I may just write a special message by hand.
Below is a list of the products I used:
Scor-Pal
Artplorations Peeking Dahlias stencil
Stamplorations Bloom Happy stamp set (sentiment)
Cheery Lynn Designs Scalloped Circle Dies
Picket Fence Life Changing Blending Brushes
Ribbon-Unknown
Rhinestones-Unknown
Scrapbook Adhesives 3-D Foam Squares
I am entering this in the Scor-Pal Blog Challenge. Check the link to see the challenge rules. I hope you will consider joining in as well. You have to use more then one fold in your project using the Scor-Pal. I went along the more CAS project with this card. But I still like it. I hope you do too.
I am also entering this in the Stamplorations Never-Ending Challenge-Anything Goes.
Thanks for visiting and for all your comments.
God bless,
Verna
