Coffee Christmas

Those who belong to the Artsystamper Addiction FB page often get freebies and the background I used for this card is one of the freebies called Post Card Receipt Rings pattern paper. I  paired it with a coffee mug design from another Artstystamper digital set called Coffee And (more) and then grabbed the poinsettia from the Artsystamper Poinsettia Pair stamp set too. I did my arrangement on my Open Office program and then printed it out. I decided this would be a slimline card. After I cut it to the size I wanted I then layered it onto green and then to a white card base to finish it. With the large  piece of  pattern paper I was able to make another card using the same elements.

I thought about adding a sentiment on the post card but in the end decided to just leave it and only add a sentiment inside instead. I have gotten into making the slimline cards lately and I think mine might be a bit bigger then most people make theirs but these fit into a business size envelope easily.
I guess I never heard what the proper measurements were supposed to be.

I just placed an order to Paper Cuts though for some already cut cards in the slimline design as well as some layering papers and envelopes. I thought this might save me from cutting up so much card stock to make just one card. I will see if I like them or not after they arrive.

On a personal note I just found out that my oldest grandson Tom who is going to college has come down with the Covid-19. He had a fever last night over 101 degrees. He is resting and taking Tylenol and drinking lots of fluids. Apparently someone in the Frat house where he lives had it and infected others. So if you would please say a prayer for him and all the others who got sick it would be much appreciated.

I have been having lots of arthritis issues lately too so I am not getting much card making done. It is all I can do to make meals, wash dishes by hand and do laundry. Then in between time I have garden  produce to take care of and I try to rest a bit too. It sure slows me down. LOL So I may be missing with blog posts a bit more now too until I feel better. Our weather has been so crazy lately with high humidity, hot weather and storms. Now it has gone to a cooling trend and it seems with each weather change I feel it in my bones. But such is life I guess.

I hope this finds all of you well and thanks for the visits.

God bless,
Verna

What a fabulous use of the AS freebie, Verna! Your festive beverage makes me think of cool, outdoor activities in a land far away (giggle). Love the card! Hope your nephew is soon recovered, and suffers no long lasting complications. It is my greatest hope you soon experience much less pain, so you may resume your enjoyable gardening, baking and crafting. It’s tough being held hostage by our bodies. Hugs, de

So very sorry to hear about your grandson Verna and sending positive thoughts and love x. Sorry to hear about your arthritis slowing you down and playing up x.
Your card looks fabulous Verna and the layout is great. I don't think it needs a sentiment weather. I hadn't realised the slimline cards where a certain size, so I will be interested in the sizes of the card you ordered when it comes x. Thinking of you x.

A great card for Christmas. I love the feel of a good cup of coffee and the Christmas Season. Take care as I know that this time of year is busy with all of the things needed to preserve the summer garden. Yes, Prayers for your grandson.

You did a great job pairing and arranging the digis from all those sets! I don't think there is one "correct" size for slimline card; I have been seeing a lot of variation here. Your proportions look great. Praying for your grandson and all the others in his house who were infected, and praying you feel better as well.

That drink looks yummy and the slimline card is perfect for that image. I am so sorry about your grandson and will certainly pray for him and hope he gets feeling better soon. The cooler weather makes the arthritis feel worse I think. Sometimes you just have to step back and take care of yourself. Having all the produce to take care of is a big job all by itself. Take it easy!

I love your slimline design, it came together so beautifully! Prayers for your grandson to get well soon and I sure hope your aches and pains subside soon, I suffer from that too but mostly in my legs, sure not fun getting old as it all seems to sneak up on us doesn't it? Take care!

So sorry to read about your painful arthritis, Verna, and I hope it improves soon. I am also sad to read that your grandson has caught the virus. Young people have a very good recovery rate so I hope he'll be just fine. Will add him to my prayer list. Your coffee card is beautiful! I just joined the FB group you mentioned - thank you!

You sure are a whiz with the computer designing your great digi cards, Verna! It's way over my head, but you put this one together perfectly! I am adding both Tom and you to my prayer list. I hope Tom is one of the lucky young ones who just has a mild case and no future side-effects from it. I know I can't pray your Arthur Itis away, but I can pray that your flare-ups are less frequent and less painful. With Mother Nature on a rampage everywhere, it's difficult to get around. Gentle hugs, Darnell

It’s a great card! I don’t know if there is an official size for these cards, so long as they fit in an envelope, right? Hope you are doing well!

That's a lovely slimline card made with your digital images! So sorry about your grandson getting sick, but hopefully with lots of prayers coming, he'll recover quickly. My arthritis has been crazy the past week too, and standing to cook meals and wash dishes has become something I have to do in shifts with resting in between. Perhaps it's something in the air or the water?

This is fun and you know I love the coffee theme! And that background image is fun! Sending prayers up for your grandson. Hoping he's through the worst of it soon. Love and hugs to you!

So sorry your grandson got Covid! Really hard for me to understand why colleges opened during a world wide pandemic!! Not to mention all the people from the top down making light of it. OK--off my soapbox. Your Christmas card is just lovely, Verna! I say any size that fits in the legal envelope is perfect! I've made a couple that are a bit smaller than the dies being sold, but I like the look. Hoping you feel better soon. My arthritic hip was bad yesterday for no reason, but much better today.
