Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Thanks so much everyone for the prayers, good thoughts and wonderful Christmas and get well cards. You are so good to me. I am very busy with therapy and working hard at it leaves me really tired but I know it is necessary. Anyway I wish all of you a wonderful Christmas. My family will visit me two at a time. It will be great seeing them. And our son and family in Japan will visit more than likely by FaceTime.  Hugs, Verna

Beccy's Place December Challenge

Sorry I have been missing in action but it seems over Thanksgiving I caught a bug which amounted to sinus issues as well as achy joints and a very tired feeling. I think my hubby had it a week earlier so it was natural I would catch it as well. Also I have been having sore feet so it is hard for me to get around these days. Always something it seems. Anyway I was feeling a tad better and thought I would join in Beccy's Place December Challenge. These images were offered as freebies so if you want them please visit her blog post.

I added a sentiment which is one of Donna Ellis's fantastic word art. She always has such great sentiments and wonderful fonts for them.

Well that is it for me today. I have to rest again. Thanks for the visits.

God bless, Verna

November Rudolph Days

First of all I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I am so blessed to have all of you as followers and good cyber friends. You always are so kind and leave me wonderful comments. I really appreciate it.

And here is my contribution to the November Rudolph Days Challenge. I used a Tim Holtz 3D Poinsettia embossing folder to make this card. And the sentiment is from Stamplorations.

I embossed it onto pink card stock and then later used small blending brushes to add more color to the design. It was layered then onto some plaid pattern paper from Gina K. Designs.

I hope all of you are having a great day! We are having our family with us on the weekend for our Thanksgiving. So I am looking forward to that. All will pitch in and help with the meal prep too so that eases the burden considerably.

Take care everyone and God bless, Verna

Coffee Card #9-Final One

The last card to be entered in the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop is another one using the labels from the Stamplorations Digital Printable division. This one is the little gingerbread girl design and she is so cute too! I added the label to some pattern paper from the Ultimate Crafts Season's Greetings Paper pad.

One thing about these digital labels is that you can size them to the specifications you want for a card, label or tag. The sentiment I used for this one is from the Stamplorations Layered Lights stamp set. And I happened to have an Altenew Grapevine ink pad. It is the perfect shade to match the red in the design.

Friday is the last day to enter a card to the coffee hop so if you want to join in you best get brewing up a design. LOL Still time and there are wonderful prizes being offered as well. All the information is at the coffee hop site and also I have a photo at the side bar on top giving the website and dates.

Well, I might be missing in action until Thanksgiving. Something I hate to do is clean house but I guess that is in my future for the next few days. It is hard work too as it is difficult for me to maneuver with a walker to dust and sweep. Hubby will do the vacuuming.  I might have to do a bit of baking as well.

So stay well and have a good crafty time. Your comments you leave me mean so much to me so I am so grateful for them.

God bless, Verna

Coffee Card #8

My eighth card again is using some of the labels from the digital division of Stamplorations. I only printed out a few of them from the Prim Christmas Tags, Labels and Journal Spots set but I think I will be using more in the future for cards next Christmas season. I think they are so darling. This card will be entered in the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop as well.

I used a mix of pattern papers from the American Crafts Noel paper pad. I thought the diagonal design added a bit more interest. The sentiment is from Stamplorations Christmas Joy stamp set.

So glad you visited and I wish you a wonderful day!

God bless, Verna

Coffee Card # 7

I'm back again today with another coffee card for the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop. I again used a darling label design from Stamplorations found in their digital department. I am glad I got a new colored ribbon in my printer as these are so cute.

This little gingerbread man is so darling in his polka dotted cup. I was wishing I could find some polka dot paper to match but I had no such thing so I simply used some striped paper that looks great too as it has a lot of the same colors. The sentiment is from the Stamplorations Christmas Baubles stamp set and the paper is from the American Crafts Noel Paper pad.

Well I will be back again shortly as I am going to post the rest of my coffee cards I made. It is time for me to clear the deck of crafty goodies and concentrate on cleaning and maybe some baking for the Thanksgiving weekend when our kids will all be here except for the family who live in Japan. I wish they could be here as well but maybe one day travel will be allowed again. I sure pray so!

Coffee Card #6

Using the Stamplorations Digital Prim Christmas Tags, Labels and Journal Spots set I also created this card and will be adding it in the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop.

The pattern paper is from the Ultimate Crafts Season's Greetings Collection pad. The sentiment is from the Stamplorations Layered Lights stamp set.  He is such a cute little snowman!

Well, that is it for me today. See you next time and thanks for the visit.

God bless, Verna

Coffee Card #5

Well lucky me was so glad when I saw I had won a $7 dollar gift from Stamplorations so I decided to check out their digital division and in that area of their web store I found this wonderful set of designs called Prim Christmas Tags, Labels, and Journaling Spots. And, the nice thing is that they can be made to any size you want with your program. I wanted mine to fit on an A2 size card so I went that route. All I had to do was cut it out. I am entering this first one I made with the new digital designs at the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop

The pattern paper is from an Ultimate Crafts Season's Greetings Collection pad and the sentiment I used is from the Stamplorations Christmas Baubles Stamp set. I thought everything went together so well.

If you want to join in on the hop there is still time. Check the side bar for all the details at the website listed there. Lots of wonderful prizes from great sponsors. You could be a lucky person who is in the winners lineup.

Well, I might be back later today with another card. Until then take care.

God bless, Verna

Coffee Card #4

I earlier in the year had gotten some wonderful paper coffee designs and card fronts from Stamplorations so this card features them and also a sentiment from the Bunnies 'N Beans stamp set from Stamplorations. I am entering this in the ongoing 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop. The logo with the website and dates is on the side bar at the top so if interested please check it out. Lots of wonderful prizes from awesome sponsors too!

This is a card design that I think works for anytime of the year. I did add a bit of purple around the edges to give it more enhancement. Not sure if it worked or not but it is what it is!

Well, I will not post anymore cards today. I want to get my cards written out for my shut-ins from us and also I do the cards from the church. So that will keep me out of trouble we hope! Hahaa! Take care and thanks for the visits and wonderful comments. You are the best!

God bless, Verna

Coffee Card # 3

I played with a digital design from Jan's Digitals Baby It's Cold Outside set. I die cut it and then placed it over some snowflake pattern paper from Gina K. Designs. I thought they looked great together. So this will be entered in the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop and also the Jan's November Digi Challenge.

The die cut scalloped rectangles is an unknown one to me as it was a gift but I like the looks of it. I wanted to add some bling to the card so I found some white snowflakes but they did not show up well. So I took a red Copic and colored them and then they were perfect for my card. I did not add a sentiment on the outside but did add one inside so it is ready to send out next year as I have all my cards made for this year. Nice feeling getting a head start.

If you want to join in the coffee hop the information is along the side bar at the top. And, you can join in on Jan's Challenge as well by going to the link of her challenge at the top. Take care everyone and thanks for the visits and comments.

Coffee Card #2

Once again I used paper items from Stamplorations as well as their stickers. This will be entered into the 2021 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop. I hope you will join in and the information is on the side bar. It can be a coffee, tea or hot cocoa themed card.

In order to get more poinsettias on the card design I colored in another cup and then fussy cut it apart and added it to my card as an edge design. The pattern paper is from the digital paper mix called Christmas Plaid from Fantasy Clipart. It was a very reasonable purchase and I am glad I have it as it is so handy to have plaids on hand especially at Christmas. I colored the cup and poinsettias with my Copics.

Thanks for visiting and I wish you a wonderful day! I love the comments.

2021 Fall Coffee Lovers Hop #1 card

Yes it is that time again. I don't plan on making very many cards for the 2021 Fall Coffee Lovers Hop but I wanted to share a few with you in case you want to join in. If so this would be the time to work up a few coffee, tea or hot cocoa cards. It is a fun challenge and hop. This is the card I made to start off the hop for me.

I used paper products from Stamplorations but added more color to the card front as well as the ATC which was just in black and white. The color was added by Copics and also by blending brushes. Something different for me but I do like it.

I encourage you to join in one way or the other for some great fun! I put the logo along the side bar at the top with the website information. Thanks for the visit.

God bless, Verna

Santa's Gift

Here is another card using a Jan's Digital Stamp set called Santa's Gift. I used the colored image from the set and also a sentiment. I die cut the image out with a Spellbinder Curved Rectangle die. And, I also used the digital plaid paper I purchased this week called Christmas Plaid from Fantasy Clip Arts. There are several patterns but since I already had this pattern printed out from yesterday I figured it would work great with this image from Jan's too. I am entering this in Jan's Digitals November 2021 Challenge.

I also used a sticker on an envelope to make it match the card. In fact when I printed out my stickers I did several of different designs for future envelopes. These Christmas cards I am making are for next year as I have all of mine done for this year. It is nice to get a head start and by doing a few a month it makes it less hectic at the last minute.

Well, that is my creative project for today. I can only do so much and then I have to rest. I wasn't doing that and ended up paying the price by having issues with my legs. So now it is time to put my feet up again so that I am ready later for making the evening meal. I hope you are having a great day. And, thanks for coming by and commenting.

G-Garden and Green

I made a card for the Beccy's Place Day 8-G Challenge and I used a retired set I snagged before it was put in the vault. The image and sentiment are from In The Christmas Garden set. Not only does G stand for Garden but I noticed that the pre-colored image of the snowman had a green jacket on.

The image was cut out with a Spellbinder die and then I noticed I had a negative frame with the scallops left over which I also added to the design. I thought it was a cute and fun Christmas design. And I love the font of the sentiment. That sentiment can work on many Christmas cards in the future too!

Well, thanks for looking and I hope the day is going well for you. We are in a dark dreary type of day and there is a possibility of some rain or maybe snow. It is the season for it. Take care everyone.

God bless, Verna

Sunflower Sympathy Card

A few days ago I was playing  with the Sunflower stencil from Stamplorations and made a card with it and used purple colors. I decided to make it a sympathy card and had no idea at the time I would need it so soon. But alas a wonderful lady from our church passed away and so I think this will be a good one to send her family in hopes it will bring them some comfort.

The washi tape is from Altenew as is the little heart sticker. I chose to use a (no longer in business) Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set for the sentiment which is one of the sayings done by Donna Ellis, the designer of the set.

Thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments.

2021 Ornament Card

Once again Jan's Digitals has offered up a beautiful free ornament image. I had to download it and today I made a card using it. I also used some plaid gingham paper for a background to show off the pretty ornaments. The pattern paper was from a clip art set I found online and purchased. It is a set from Fantasy Cliparts called Christmas Plaid. This card will be entered in the Jan's Digitals November Challenge.

The design was die cut with a Spellbinder A2 Distressed Edges die set. And since I used the pre-colored ornaments design it was easy to put the layers together once I had them printed. Oh, my! It is so good to have the printer working again!

Well, that is my Sunday afternoon project. Mostly was spent looking for some digital pattern paper sets. It helps to have a few on hand and especially in plaids. I hope your day has been great too!

Frank the Snowman-F

I found this cute digital image at Beccy's Place on the freebie page of her blog and I thought he would work great for a quick card.  I am entering this in the Beccy's Place "F" challenge as his name on the freebie is Frank. He is a darling frosty little guy!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. We got some great visits in with our youngest grandchildren and their mother. Take care everyone.

To Grandmother's House

I got my printer back and the problem was a bad cartridge which they replaced for free as I had just purchased a new one a couple weeks ago and replaced it the day I could not get it to work. So at least that was not an expensive repair. So today I printed out a digital design from Jan's Digitals so that I could enter at least one card in the November Jan's Digitals Challenge. I chose to use images from the Over The River set. I also made an envelope to match it too! I printed the image on sticker paper, fussy cut it and placed it on the corner of the envelope.

I used some of the first dies I had ever purchased. They were the Polka Dot Frame from Spellbinder and also the Spellbinder A2 Curved Matting Basics A set. I only used part of the sentiment from the digital set as I was cramped for room. But by cutting around it and putting a thin border of green cardstock I got it to fit in the frame. The last finishing touch was to add some dark green rhinestones to each rounded corner.

Well, that might be all I do today or tomorrow as I have company coming Saturday. So I have to put all my toys away. Thanks for visiting and I love the comments. Stay healthy too!

God bless, Verna

Stenciled Bouquet

Sorry I have not posted much this week but I was busy making cards to send off for a possible publication some day and so did not post any of them at all. But here is one I did make using an Altenew stencil, some sentiment stamps and sequins which also came from Altenew. I used two shades of ink one in a light pink and one in a darker pink. And, I used sentiments on the card that  would work for any type of celebration.

I could have gone just with the stencil design alone but in the end I decided I wanted some gold washi tape and some gold sequins on the card. I thought it gave that little extra elegant look to the monochrome design. I am happy with it and think myself it is beautiful! And the stencil was perfect for a larger slimline design!

Altenew products: Watercolor Bouquet Stencil, Celebrate Mini Stamp Set and Gold Washi Tape and Sequins.

Today I was going to work with some digitals so I put in new ink cartridges and lo and behold no matter how I put the colored one in the colored ink would not print. So I called the computer store and they said to bring in the printer. So it is now in the shop. I hope it doesn't mean a new printer is needed. I guess time will tell what the results will be. One bad thing about digitals is that you need your technical equipment working right too!

Well, I do have ink pads and stamps I can work with. I also won a $15 gift certificate to Altenew so I spent some time this morning shopping and of course, went over the amount big time. Will I ever learn? Answer: I doubt it. LOL

Also this week I got my Christmas gifts for the grandkids (younger ones) ordered and some are even wrapped already. The older ones will get money so they can spend it any way they want. I visited with my son in Japan via texting and we came to the conclusion it is too spendy to send them a package. So I will go with money for them too and I guess Japan doesn't want large packages either at this time. When the family finally makes it back to the US they can spend it here.

Anyway I have had a busy week. I hope all of you are doing well too! I appreciate your comments. Also I have been commenting on any posts of yours that I get in my feeds. Someone said they had not seen any comments from me but I assure you I have been leaving them. For some reason perhaps they have not allowed mine to go through. If such is the case I can do nothing about it that I know of.

Take care and God bless, Verna

Die Cut Layered Daisy

I love the look of layered flowers and images and so when I saw this Altenew Craft-A-Flower:Daisy Layering Die Set I had to buy it and see if I liked working with die cuts as well as I do the layering stamps and stencils. Well, although the end result is beautiful I found that for me with my arthritic hands they would not work well with the small pieces. But I struggled and did finally get my card to sort of look okay. So my concensus is that I will not buy the die cut sets but will continue to buy the stamps and stencils. I must say my favorite is the stencils too. They were much easier to line up.

I started out with white card stock for all the die cut layers. I then used ink pads to color in the various colors. The white daisy I simply added a bit of light blue to the layers but not so heavy as to have them look blue but still maintain the white. The pink daisy was colored in with various shades of pink to create my layered look. And the leaves were with various shades of green ink added to the layers. The same with the centers of the daisies to which shades of brown were used. Those centers were where it was so hard for me to layer together as they were too small for my clumsy hands.

The sentiment is from one of my favorite Altenew sets called Beautiful Day. I am sending this one out to my niece who is now in remission from her Pancreatic cancer. I so hope she stays that way for a long, long time too. She has gotten well enough that she can resume her job. I am so glad as I know this has been an expensive ordeal for the family with her having to go to treatments.

Well, thanks for all the sweet comments which make my day. You are so good to me.

God bless, Verna

October Rudolph Days

My card for this challenge is made with all Stamplorations product lines. That includes the stencil for the background, the ATC ephemera card and the sentiment sticker. As you can tell I love the paper line from them which allows for quick and easy card designs. I am entering this in the October Rudolph Days Challenge.

Using the stencil I tried to get about the same pattern as was on the ATC. Although not perfect I do think it still ties them together and I liked it so that was what really counted. Haha! And, those stickers have such wonderful sayings so I chose to add one to the card front and also inside the card. The card stock used for the card base and the layer though is from Gina K. Designs.

Thanks for visiting and I wish all of you a great week.

God bless, Verna

Peeking Sunflowers

Once again I had to use the stencil called Peeking Sunflowers from Stamplorations. It is in the Artplorations division. And the colors I used were supposed to resemble one of the images on the mood board at Double D's Challenge which is Sunflowers. So without further ado here is the card I created and tried to capture fairly close the colors on the board.

For this card I stenciled in the sunflowers with white pigment ink on black card stock. And, then I overlapped with some mixes of deep reds and purples to create the flowers with a bit of color. The next step was to add some Gina K. Designs clear embossing powder and heat set it. Well, of course, when I did the stenciled design I got some white ink outside of the stencil onto the black card base so I had to find a way to cover that up. So to the rescue was some Washi tape from Altenew which I thought was a fairly close match to the colors. The sentiment die is from the Cutplorations division of Artplorations and the finishing touches were some white pearls and some Posco white paint marks in the sunflower centers.

I lined the inside of the card with white paper so that I could stamp or write a message when I am ready to send it off. And, that was my card. Below is the photo of the mood board. This way you can see why I chose to try this color combo for it.

This was supposed to be done yesterday but instead we entertained insurance salesmen for over two hours in the afternoon. They had to review our coverage. So by the time they left I was no longer in the mood to make a card.

Well everyone thanks so much for the visits. I wish I could respond individually to each of you but a group thanks will have to do. I love the comments you leave me too.

Until next time God bless, Verna

Slimline Sunflower Card

I haven't been joining in many challenges lately because if I win a gift certificate I can't seem to curb myself to just that amount but instead buy a lot more. I love buying more but to tell the truth I am running out of room so I figured I best not tempt myself. But when I saw the Double D Challenges theme was Sunflowers I just had to join in with a card I made using an Artplorations Sunflower Stencil and a Cutplorations die which are all part of Stamplorations. I used inks from Rubbernecker to add the colors with a blending brush. I just love this stencil and I had so much fun. And that is a wonderful sentiment especially this time of Thanksgiving. But it works all year long as far as I am concerned.

I took a marker and with a little darker brown I tried to add some texture to the centers of each sunflower. I thought it might bring a little more realistic look to them.

Thanks for stopping by on this rainy day. And, it is to really get cold I hear and we may be having a hard freeze in the next few nights. They even mentioned that word SNOW! Not sure I am ready for that unless it falls and disappears right away. Anyway, everyone take care.

God bless, Verna

Digital Cards

Yesterday I played with some digitals and used one little daisy design and merged three of them together to make one big cluster of daisies. I had to turn some of them around in different directions to make the design and what was an experiment turned out quite well I think. I then printed that merged design out and divided it into four panels. I had intended to use them just as card fronts but when I saw them this morning I decided to use them with a little extra embellishment and layers. Below is the four card panels before I made them into cards. You can see where together they made a huge cluster of flowers.

The daisy design is from Jan's Digtal Pumpkin Blessings set and the Thinkng of You sentiment is from Jan's Wild Blossom's set. The birthday cards sentiment is from the Artsystamper Artsy Sentiments set. I think it is nice when one can use digitals from more then one company to create a design.

And here is the four cards I made this afternoon with those fronts.

I used a stitched rectangle die from Maker's Movement on a couple and on another I used a rounded corner rectangle die from My Favorite Things. The one with the fancy corners uses a die from Cheery Lynn Designs. And the one card I just used the panel as a plain card front to which I added it to a card base. The gems used were from my stash. Oh, and again the green was yellow so I had to add some green color in with marker to make it look like leaves and stems should. The card stock used is all from Gina K. Designs.

I am showing you a card I posted a few weeks ago where I only used one of the daisy clusters. This way you can see what the cluster looked like before I did the merging.

Well that is it for me today. My hubby and I are celebrating our 52nd wedding anniversary today. We exchanged cards and maybe on the weekend we will get a meal to celebrate further. Big celebrations are not on the "to do" list anymore as we are getting older (the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak) and with the still active Covid spread going on it is best not to do too much group gathering.

Everyone take card and thanks for visiting.

God bless, Verna

More Monochrome

Well here I am again which surprised me as I had no plans to get creative but yesterday when I did a momochrome card I had so much fun that when I looked at the card this morning it inspired me to do even more designs today. Again I used all Altenew products except maybe for some paper, ink and rhinestones.

Here is the first card I made using Gina K. Designs lipstick cardstock and then an Altenew 3D Blossoming Branches embossing folder which was inked up with a darker shade of red. I then die cut it and then added it to a white card base. Last thing I did was use a white Posca paint pen to add some interest in the flower centers and bird and the sentiment from the Altenew Watercolor Halftone stamp set..

The next card I made in monochrome blue. The Altenew stamp set used for the flowers was from the Watercolor Halftone stamp set. I also used the matching die for the set to cut out the design. I put that aside while I took a white card base and stamped a design in each corner and a sentiment from the Altenew Dot Art stamp set. The ink pad used was Altenew Persian Blue Crisp Ink. I then popped up the die cut flowers and finished by adding some blue rhinestones from my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my little creative adventure from this afternoon. I know I did. Take care everyone and thanks for coming by and leaving such uplifting comments always.

God bless, Verna

Going Monochrome

I made an anniversary card and chose to use just shades of green for the card. My main panel was made with an Altenew 3-D embossing folder called Floating Foliage. I used inks from the Rubbernecker Color Fuse line for my card. I also used the Altenew Mix and Match Frames die set. And, the sentiment is from the Altenew Stunning Cosmos set and after stamping it I cut it out with an old Fiskers Deckle Edge scissors. I finished by adding  a white panel inside the card.

I just love this and the shades of green are so complimentary to each other. I guess you can tell I like that Mix and Match Die set as I seem to use it with almost all of the cards I make lately. I am so happy I purchased it now.

Well, I think that might be all I do this week unless the crafting bug hits me again. I do know I am only one card away from reaching my goal of 100 Christmas cards so I might finish that up. And, if I do go over the goal I can always use them for next year.

Take care everyone and thanks for the visits.

Stenciled Flowers Card

I recently purchased an Altenew layering stencil called Greenwood Flowers. I was not sure if I could make decent looking flowers with stencils but I was so surprised and found it to be just as easy or even easier then using stamps to make layered designs. The set consists of three stencils. I love the look!

I stamped in Gina K. Designs black ink a sentiment from the Altenew Garden Hydrangea set and the inks I used for the flowers are the Rubbernecker Color Fuse layering inks. Those inks are amazing when it comes to doing layered designs such as this. I highly reccommend them. I just love the mix of colors on each flower. The top flower I cut out by hand as there are no dies with these. I wanted it to be popped up on top of the other two.

Well, we are through half of a week already. Time is whooshing by again. But at least I got a bit of card making in so far. I hope you have had a fun and productive week too. And thanks for the visit and wonderful comments you always leave me. I love them!

Take care and God bless, Verna

Poinsettia Cards

For these cards I used digital images or ideas from my three favorite digital designers. The poinsettia is from Artsystamper, the sentiment is from Jan's Digitals and the idea came from Beccy's Place. I printed out one huge image of the poinsettias and then cut them into four panels for four quick cards.

And here is the big sheet which you can see I cut in two to make four cards. It was too bad I was out of all the colors of ink so I had to color in the green as my leaves came out of the printer yellow. LOL

Now that was a nice way to get four great cards. I will have to remember this idea with future digital designs.

Thanks for visiting and have a great new week. Also a Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends.

Deer In Meadow

I am need of masculine birthday cards so I thought a little scene might work for one of them. I used the evergreen tree line and deer punches from Stampin' Up! as part of the scene.

First thing I did was to brush on my sky and grass to a white card front. I used a marker to make the grass look a bit more real. Then I added two rows of the trees in two shades of green and next I punched out two of the deer but only put antlers on one of them. I used some markers to add some color to the deer to make them look more realistic. The final things I added then were the hand drawn birds and a sentiment from Gina K. Designs. This whole panel was die cut using one of the Altenew Mix and Match Frames. I really like that set of frames for adding a nice edging to cards. The panel was added to a white card base. And that completed my scene.

Thanks so much for all the sweet comments. I hope your week went well and that the upcoming weekend will be a great one too. I am getting company tomorrow so I won't be doing any card making.

Until next time God bless, Verna

Altenew Inspiration Challenge

I just saw the inspiration photo for the October Inspiration Challenge at Altenew and loved those colors so I made a card using one of the Altenew stencils called Foliage Stencil. I did my best to incorporate the colors of the photo and as a result I find I really like this card. I hope you do too! The sentiment is from the Altenew Sentiment Strips stamp set. And, the dies used are from the Altenew Mix and Match Frames. I used two of them from that set for this card. After all was layered I added it to a brown card base and then used a yellow card stock die cut rectangle for the inside so I can stamp or write a message.

Below is the inspiration photo that showed the colors to be used. My leaves are not quite the same as those on the board but they are still leaves.

Well, I am so glad you stopped by to see what I have been doing today! I love to read all the comments you leave me. I hope your day was a good one too!

God bless, Verna

Camellia

With my last order from Altenew they included a thank you card and also an outline image from the Paint a Flower: Camillia Outline Stamp set which we were invited to color in and then post it on social media. So I did that and made a card with the image. Nothing really fancy but I am sure someone will like to recieve it.

My markers did not work as well as I would have wanted them too but I think it was something to do with the slick surface of the card stock the flowers image was printed on that caused that. I do think it is a pretty design. And, the sentiment was at the bottom so I left it as is. I did not have gray cardstock to match so I went with some silver instead and then added three clear rhinestones to finish it.

Well, I am back to the wheelchair. My one foot developed a sore where the bone in the arch sticks out so I gave it first aid and now that I am not on it so much it is starting to feel better and healing. Hopefully once it is healed I will be walking again more. I do some walking but not as much as before. I find I don't tire out as much either so maybe that is a good thing as well. I made two cards today so  that in itself is an accomplishment.

Thanks for visiting and I love to read all your wonderful comments.

World Cardmaking Day

Being it is World Card Making Day I just had to get creative so I worked on a few Thanksgiving cards. I have six of them done using the Stamplorations Sweet AutumnATC-Ephemera set and the Altenew Diamond Frame Cover die. The cardstock is from Gina K. Designs. The sentiment is also from Stamplorations. Here are three of the cards I made.

You may have noticed that the first one in the lineup did not have the complete Diamond Cover Die used for it. Well the answer is simple....I messed up half of the cut so I used what was good only. Also on the third one I only used the diamond from the center and added that as extra background for the ATC. There was room for a sentiment so I used one from the Stamplorations Words of Gratitude set. I only have to add sentiments to the insides now and then they will be ready to send out when it is closer to Thanksgiving. That will be another day though when I finish them. I think those ATC panels are gorgeous!

I hope you card makers are having fun being creative too! Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend.

3D Embossing Folder Card

I cannot believe that it is the end of September already. How fast the time flies and during this last month I did very few cards. I bought a lot of stuff but did not have energy to use them much. But this week I managed to use one of the Altenew 3D embossing folders for an anniversary card. All the spending was done because I won a $50 gift certificate to Altenew so naturally I had to shop. Hahaa!

Also purchased from Altenew was the Mix and Match Frames set. I used two of the frames on this card. The sentiment is from the Altenew Sentiment Strips stamp set which I had purchased a few years ago. I use that set a lot. I added some black dots for a simple background for the daisies using a Bic black pen. The inks used were from Rubberstamper. And more accents were added to the daisy centers with another Bic pen.

Well, I wish all of you a wonderful October. Before we know it another year will have passed by. Until next time take care and thanks for the visits.

September Rudolph Days

I just love the snowflake stencils I got from The Greetery which consists of two of them and they are called Frosty Flakes. I chose to use one of them with the Snowman from the Stamplorations paper goods division which is called the Christmas Backgrounds ATC #1-Ephemera set. I just love the look myself. So I am entering this in the September Rudolph Days Challenge.

This was a quick and easy card to make but I love it. The sentiment is also a sticker from Stamplorations. Ink used for the stencil design is from Rubbernecker.

Thanks for looking and for the wonderful comments. I hope you have a great weekend.

Ink Pad Christmas

I reverted back to an old way of making backgrounds for cards by just using my ink pads. In fact, the only inks used were with ink pads. I worked with the Stampin' Up! Christmas Pine Cone dies and Christmas to Remember stamp set. I went with only using the pads for coloring because I was too fatigued to look for pattern papers that would work with it. I am afraid it has a more Fall look to it then Christmas but I guess since today is the first day of Autumn it will be fine.

I die cut the pine cone in white and then colored in with the ink pads. I also earlier had tried to die cut a pine branch cover die but I was not successful in getting it to work. I should have used the tin shim plate with it. But at least most of the pine branches did cut so I cut them off and used some of them for a part of my pinecone design.

The next time I do this design or a similar one I will try to find pattern paper that will work. But it was still fun to get my fingers inky again.

Take care and until next time God bless, Verna

Delicate Dahlias

This afternoon I played with a new Stampin' Up! set called Delicate Dahlias. I thought they were such a pretty flower and I know I can always use more sympathy cards in my stash too!

The light tan or brown marks were done by taking a light brown ink cube and swiping it in various directions and along the edges. I had to do some masking to make the design. Inks used were from Rubbernecker.

Thanks for stopping in and I love to read what you say each time too!

Special Day

Today I made a card for a special occasion. I used a digital image and a sentiment from the set called Gone Fishin by Beccy's Place. I printed it out and then with blending brushes and markers colored in the scene. This is a card to celebrate the adoption of our grandson by his stepdad.

Several years ago when our grandson realized his biological father was no longer interested in keeping in touch with him he asked his stepdad if he would adopt him. His stepdad said he would and they began to get the proceedings going by hiring a lawyer and then starting the whole procedure involved. But of course then the pandemic hit and everything in the courts systems was stalled and put on hold. But this week they were finally notified that they should be in the court by 4 o'clock this afternoon and the adoption and name change would go through. So we are overjoyed for the family and know our grandson has a good stable father-son relationship with this wonderful man who is now his father. There is to be a celebration but unfortunately we could not attend as I had medical appointments I had to keep. But we are with them in spirit and are so excited for all of them.

And as to me I got a good report on my mammogram, got the third Covid shot, and saw my oncologist and he took me off the chemo pill permanently as it was determined it was doing more harm then good. So I feel much better and can breathe a bit easier knowing that I won't suffer with that pill anymore.

I hope this finds all of you doing well and I thank you so much for visiting each time I post. I am hoping soon it will be more often too. I am not using the wheelchair in the home anymore but instead am back to using the walker. I am not quite 100% back but at least I am improved. And I am okay with having the wheelchair to use when I need it especially when going to doctor appointments that require a lot of walking. So that is what's happening in my little corner of the world.

Take care and God bless, Verna

No Layer Card

I am having a lot of pain issues still but I did manage to make a CAS no layer card today and used Fall Leaves for my inspiration. I expect any day now the leaves will be changing colors. I love that season!

I used Stampin' Up! products for the leaf images and the sentiment. The leaves come from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set and the sentiment is from the Christmas To Remember set. I thought that sentiment would work for any season.  I took Washi Tape and taped a panel in which I then brushed on some inks. The inks used were from Rubbernecker. The it was just a simple thing of stamping the leaves over the top.

I have a mammogram scheduled Friday and I sure hope I can get it done even though I am in awful pain. I think I did something to my hip but found out that walking was less painful for me then using the wheelchair. So I am back to using the walker.

Well, I hope everyone of you are doing well and I thank you for the visits.

God bless, Verna

More Washi Tape Cards

Today my post is showing a couple more Washi Tape cards I did from that big roll of Washi Tape from Altenew called Wild Flora Washi Tape. While I was working with the tape I made several backgrounds and also did some fussy cutting and die cutting from the beautiful design. I put the tape onto cardstock so it was easier to cut out either way.

I made an A2 size card and also a mini slimline one. I love the colors in this tape so I tried to pair the designs with card stock and other additions that matched. I hope you can see the Galaxy gold pen marks I added to the A2 one in the center of the flowers and also as little dots. The slim washi tape is also from Altnew and already had a gold thread through it. Also the sentiments on both cards are from Altenew.

And this next photo of the slimline card shows off the big roll of Washi tape that these pretty designs came from. The roll was so long that I could not get it all into my photo without making the card design too small to view decently but I think you get the idea of it's length.

Well that is my cards. And, also a note to let you know the (tnics) email address is no longer in service and you have to rely only on my (gmail) one now. If you didn't change over I hope you check out the picture on my posts where it should show my email address when you get to my profile. Well, my company is holding off arriving until Sunday so I am glad for that as my arthritis is so bad I can hardly maneuver again. We have a cold and rainy day again! Oh, how I love these Golden Years. I am keeping company with Ben Gay today!

So glad you stopped by and until next time take care and God bless, Verna

Halloween Shuffle

I finally got all my Halloween cards made and they are all the same design as I used images from Jan's Digitals Pumpkin People digi set. I thought the dancing pumpkin lady fit the theme board for the ongoing Two Old Bats Septemher Challenge. So therefore I am entering the challenge this month.

The background for the card was one I made quite some time ago and then took a photo of it. So you might say I made my own digital design. I made a big old moon for Halloween and of course my white specks were supposed to be stars. Some got a bit big though but that's the way the paint brush dripped. LOL I printed it on some cardstock that I received from my old work place at the newspaper as it was cardstock they were no longer using. It has a texture to it but I think that is okay too! In this scene the pumpkin man is playing the tune and the pumpkin lady is kicking up her heels. And, check out the cat? He is conducting them. I added a few bats and then it was ready to print out. Once it was printed I die cut it a bit smaller with a Maker's Movement stitched rectangle die. The finishing touch was to add it to an orange card base.

Well, I did a whole batch of these and in fact, made more then I needed but perhaps I can find someone who will enjoy getting a Halloween card. I hope you are ready for the big Labor Day weekend. We are getting company again...more of our kids. So this will be my last post until next week no doubt.

Take care and until next time God bless, Verna

Washi Tape Anniversary Card

Some few months ago I won a gift certificate to Altenew and this huge over 11 inches wide Washi tape was one of the items I spent it on. Well, I had some difficulty getting the tape to unroll without tearing but I did manage to get some pieces of it so that I could end up with some great card making supplies. This particular tape is called Wild Flora Washi Tape and it is indeed beautiful. I am hoping eventually I will get it to come off the roll easier. But I doubt I will ever order any that wide again. It is too difficult for me with my arthritis hands. A2 card size washi tape is much easier to work with. There were dies with the bundle I bought too so I might be showing some die cut flowers from the tape one of these days on future cards.

I decided to fussy cut around the bigger flower and then have that as a border design against the darker green cardstock. This panel was then die cut with a Maker's Movement Stitched Rectangle Die before adding it to the white card base.  The sentiment is also from Altenew.

I have several wedding anniversaries coming up this Fall so I thought I best work on making a few for those occasions. I think it makes a lovely anniversary card.

Well, I survived my procedure Monday and like many of  you had said I found the prep day was the worst. And, the results were that I have a healthy colon. So that at least was a good thing to hear. Thanks to all who kept me in their thoughts that day.

Well, today no card making but instead I slept in as I got very little sleep the night before. I also had some leftover chicken broth so I decided to make a casserole with that, chicken, some noodles and veggies for a supper meal. I am sure I have way to much so no doubt I will put a few meals in the freezer for those days I want to craft and not have to worry about what's for supper. LOL

Take care everyone and thanks for the visit and comments.

Until next time, God bless, Verna

Freshly Made Sketches #500 Entry

I have not been entering very many challenges lately but I saw the sketch design for Freshly Made Sketches #500 and it looked simple enough that I thought even I could do it. So here is what I came up with. And congratulations to them on their #500 sketch.

Below you can see the sketch I followed fairly close.

I used Gina K. Designs card stock, pattern paper from the Grateful Hearts pack, black ink and a sentiment from the Thankful & Blessed stamp set. The panels were all die cut with a Makers Movement Rectangle Stitched die set.

So now I have my first Thanksgiving card done. The other day I finished all my Halloween cards so that I will show you another day.

Well, it was so nice of you to visit and leave such wonderful comments. I so appreciate them.

Take care and God bless, Verna
