I got home early enough from the Wound Clinic to join in on the fun that the Mod Squad Challenge Blog is creating with their challenge to use something from a magazine on your card or project. I chose again to make an Easter card design.
I used the cross image and the sentiment from the Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamp Set 362 Crosses. I chose lavender and egg plant card stocks for my card. I cut out the Spellbinder Labels 6 shapes and layered them together. On the front label of lavender card stock I stamped the cross in Versamark and then added fine detail gold embossing powder and heat set it. I also stamped the cross on an ad from Ruby Tuesday which showed a piece of grilled steak. I also embossed that with the gold embossing powder. I fussy cut around the image on the magazine ad and glued it to the gold cross template I created on the top label.
Before I added the layered cross design onto the base card of lavender I took some gold fiber and added that beneath it to create a bit more elegance. It is a simple design but the message is perfect for the Easter season.
I don't think you can tell it was piece of grilled steak either now. Thanks for looking and leaving lovely comments always too.
God bless,
Verna
