Guest Designing For March Twofer

I am very honored to be guest designing for the No. 3 March Twofer Card challenge. I was so lucky to be chosen the winner on the very first Twofer challenge and therefore, was asked to do a guest spot.

The challenge this month is to use a blossom or flower image on two cards in different and unique ways. My blossoms were taken from a Concord and 9th stamp set called Flourish. I also used a sentiment from Gina K. Designs for the Easter design.

The first one is simply the floral design and this Flourish stamp set was the first set from Concord & 9th  I purchased and I still love it. It is a very fun and more artsy looking floral design. The sentiment for this card was taken from another Concord & 9th set called Many Mandalas Stamp set. My inks of choice were Hero Arts Ombre ink pads and I used a Memory Box Cross Stitched Border die to cut out the white stamped panel and the black panel. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine black ink before I placed the layered panels on a white card base. The last items added were the black gem rhinestones.

Now using the same stamp set I made an Easter scene. The Flourish set flowers were used to make the grass and the decorations on the eggs. By the way I did not have any plain egg dies but I figured a small oval would serve just as well. So I die cut some using a Cheery Lynn Die and then decorated them with the flower images.

The rabbit die is one from Cheery Lynn Designs called Funny Bunny and I simply cut it in white and backed it onto some pink card stock. I then cut around the image to make it look more visible against the blue sponged background I did for the sky. I thought the sentiment would look cute if it was on a cloud so I did it that way and popped it up. The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Springtime Baskets set.

I always enjoy making cards and both of these designs were fun to make. A little thinking outside the box is sometimes required but I think that is a part of the fun of the challenge. I hope some of you will consider joining in on the challenge as well.

Thanks for the visit and comments. See you next time!

God bless,
Verna

What a gorgeous bold bloom, Verna ... the variegated colour in the blossoms is brilliant, adds a fablulous sense of depth! Your bunny scene is just so cute ... such clever use of the flower head for the grassy meadow ... and for the fun patterns on the Easter eggs! Thanks so much for inspiring our players as our first Guest Designer at Twofer! Anita :)

Both of your blossom cards are fabulous and so creative to use the bloom for the Easter grass, you certainly come up with some wonderfully creative ideas!!

First of all congratulations! YAY, you! Secondly, WOW! So wonderfully creative! I thought you were going to say the eggs were made with the floral stamp (you might just be able to pull that off) Love how you made the grass.....sooooo clever! These are fabulous cards!!!

Verna, you are a very clever "thinking outside the box" stamper! If you weren't guest designing this time you'd probably be a winner with these two cards! Brilliant to use the blossoms as grass and to decorate the eggs. Fun!

So thrilled to have you as our very first guest designer, Verna! And you did it again and nailed the challenge with your very creative take! Your flowery birthday card is very pretty with the different shades on the flowers. But then to take that flower and use it for grass and decoration on the eggs is genius! I really admire your ability to think outside the box!

You have been SO clever at thinking of the box with these stamps that you've used in each 2fer challenge. Love the flowers, and then the way you've made the grass for this bunny to hide his eggs. Both are just so pretty! TFS & Hugs

Hello, Verna! Congrats on your guestie spot at Twofers! You have made two amazing cards and I would never have guessed that the same stamp was used as the cards are so different. I had to really look before I figured it out. Beautiful job!

Oh, Verna, you are going to make everyone who visits the Twofer challenge this month smile when they see how cleverly you used your mod flower stamp on your Easter card! The birthday card is absolutely gorgeous! I love the colors and how you've used black as an accent mat with all the white! It makes the blossom POP! And, of course, you are defining what it means to think outside the box with your fun Easter card! Thank you so much for being our March Guest Designer and rocking the prompt!! Hugs, Darnell
