Yappy Birthday!

I bought a darling Stampendous Puppy stamp and die set about a year ago when I knew we were going to have a new grandson. So today I made a card for Jack who will soon be turning one. I can hardly believe how fast that birthday came around. He got off to a rough start but he is doing great now. I made a card without a lot of bling on it as I still think he stuffs a lot of things into his mouth  yet. So it is just a simple little scene but I really like it.

The body and the head of the puppy come as two different stamps so you can position the head in any direction you please. I wanted to have him looking like his head was cocked to one side. I also used the bone from the set and added that to the grass which was some Gina K. Design pattern paper which I cut out using the MFT Die-namics Grassy Edges die set. My coloring medium used was Copics for the puppy and for the sky I used Gina K. Designs ink which was blended on with a Life Changing Blending Brush. The sentiment was only Yappy Birthday but I took the liberty of adding the #1 to it with a Bic fine line black marker.

I think this will work well for a toddler who still likes to shove everything into his mouth. I don't know if he will be walking by his birthday on his own but he sure can walk around things. In fact, his Dad has to use a walker to walk so when he goes walking Jack hangs onto a lower bar below and walks with his Dad. That is so cute.

We warmed up to 25 degrees above zero. And, it sounds like that will be the case tomorrow too. But I think it will be short lived. Anyway I hope you have a nice weekend.

Take care and God bless,\
Verna

Adorable, Verna!! He, and if not him, his parents will love it! Love the little cocked head of the adorable pooch - beautifully colored I might add. I remember you posting for prayers about Jack - I can't believe a year has gone past since. Glad he is doing so well!

What a darling, sweet card for Jack! Your coloring is beautiful! He's already turning one? Seems like he was just born a few months ago!!! I love how you put the doggie's head!!! Big warm hugs of aloha to you - I've kept thinking about you, hoping it wasn't so bad, knowing it pretty much is. But I pray the power stays on for everybody :*

Such a cute puppy, beautifully coloured. Love that you can pop on his head separately... Fun sentiment and brave to add the #1 yourself..lol x Jack will love it or is that Jack will love chewing it x. Cute indeed about him hanging onto his Dads walker....
Continue to stay warm x

Verna, this is one of the cutest puppies ever! I love that you can position his head. How darling this would be for many occasions and any age, really. I'm sure Jack still puts plenty in his mouth so it's a good idea to keep it simple. I don't know how you could have improved upon it, anyway!
