The Dies R Us Challenge #122-Kids threw me for a loop until I thought about how kids play a big part in making Father's Day a big success so I went along that theme and created a card for my son-in-law who due to a TBI from an injury has some difficulties with walking and other functions. Much of the time he uses a walker but at times he will also use a wheel chair. And he is a father to a girl and a boy so with the silhouette stamp set I decided to make a scene card for him.
The first thing I did was take my blending brushes and a stencil to make a sky and grassy lawn area. That was the main background and I was then ready to stamp the silhouette images from the stamp set. But I felt it needed more so I took another stencil and added a tree. My sentiment was stamped in black on white card stock and then die cut and layered to a layer of black card stock. I added a few gems and then placed that in the sky portion of the card. This is approximately a 5 x 7 card.

I looked up these stamps. Very unusual and it's nice that they have some along these lines. Your card is very heartwarming and perfect, Verna.
A very cute scene! I like your sky and the way you included all the figures in the card. Great use of stencils here too.
Such a sweet, customized, loving scene, Verna! Your stenciled clouds look amazing, and the trees with shaded areas are beautiful! It's a wonderful card from top to bottom and makes me feel happy just seeing all the details you put into it. hugs, de
What a perfect, personal card this is. I'm sure he will be appreciative of the card you tailored especially for him. It is a beautiful scene and looks like a lovely afternoon with the kids. That was so sweet of you and I hope he is making a lot of progress in his recovery.
What a lovely little scene! Loving those silhouette stamps.
Verna, your card is absolutely gorgeous. I love it. The Blue Knight Stamps were perfect for your son in law's Father's Day Card. I love the beautiful clouds.

Such a thoughtful card and wonderful scene making. The sky looks fabulous and so do the silhouette images x. Loving the two tones on the stamped tree too x.
Nice twist! Kids really do make a Father's/Mother's Day the best! Nice job on your blending but I'm also impressed you just happen to have those silhouettes!
Fabulous card Verna and so thoughtful and one that will truly be appreciated! Thank you for joining our challenge at Dies R Us!

I like the way you think!! A Father's day card never crossed through my mind for the kids theme, but this turned out to be such a personal, and thoughtful father's day card that will be cherished I'm sure! The clouds in the sky are gorgeous and I just really love how you put this all together! Love it!

You created a great scene with the sponging and silhouette images. I'm sure your son-in-law will love it.
So sweet! Must be difficult for your son in law to be not able to walk well. My husband has problems walking too....The sky looks amazing, but the tree is what really caught my attention - awesome with that two tone stenciling!
What a great card...so personalized too!
Verna I love what you did with the stencils. Your scene is so heart touching. Thanks for sharing with usat Dies R Us Challenge Blog. We hope you will join us for future challenges.
