I was trying to make an ugly sweater design but to tell the truth when it was all done I really liked it and did not think it ugly at all. But I would love to hear what you think.
I got new stencils from The Greetery which is called Knit Wits and with that set of stencils I made the ugly sweater background. I admit that is a bit ugly looking with those colors but when I added it to the red layer and light green card stock base I changed my mind. I stamped the images with deep black ink and then fussy cut each one out and placed it over the center of the knit look. The deer I popped up even more with some double stick photo tape. Final touch was to add some rhinestones to the card. All stamps used are from the same stamp set.
Supplies used:
Knit Wits Stencil set from The Greetery
Dashing Stamp set from Gina K. Designs
Card Stock and inks from Gina K. Designs
Blending Brushes
I am entering this in the Double D's Challenge.
Thanks for visiting. I am not doing a lot of card making. This one I worked on for two days before I finally finished it today. Too many other irons in the fire. LOL
God bless,
Verna

I think it is super cute! I love the colors! Now, I have to also say that a lot of the sweaters that are supposed to be ugly, I also like. So take it with a grain of salt. I really like the stencil and will be looking up that product! Thanks for sharing!
Oh so very pretty, what a fabulous stencil too, and I do love the cheerful colors! I have seen so many things on so many blogs that I have put on my want/need list, maybe new year as I have bought way too much this year that I have yet to use LOL...thanks for entering our challenge at Double D!!

It does NOT look ugly at all! Funny how the red and green could change the look of it so much. I honestly love it a lot! Cute stencil.
I've got a couple of ugly sweaters that I love!! Your card is so cute - I think it has a Scandanavian feel to it. Great layout!
I love that the stencil looks like knitting and it started you in the path to an ugly sweater. But how things turn out sometime is a surprise to the artist. This is not ugly. Lol
Thanks for sharing it with us at Double D challenges.

Bahahaha! I LOVE it, Verna! I think it will definitely qualify for the Ugly Sweater contest, even though the cared turned out quite lovely! How ironic is that! I guess it just goes to show that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. I mean, really, all those people who bought those ugly sweaters bought them because they thought they were beautiful, right? You did a marvelous job, as always! Good luck in the contest!
It may be ugly sweater-ish - but gosh, Verna, I love the card! It's beautiful! The background paper definitely resembles knitting, so I can see that as being a sweater. You've managed to make "ugly" look beautiful! hugs, de
I think your background is not only pretty, it's also very festive. Bravo!
Nope not ugly at all....Vibrant and full of wonderful colour x. Christmas on a card and I love it x
No ugly sweater found here! I think you're absolutely right though, the other elements, the other colors, and the fabulous way everything works together made a great card!
This is fabulous Verna.... Ugly sweater to me just means a decorated sweater for Christmas.,,, Yet I have seen a few sweaters that were truly ugly... lol I love the stenciled knit layer as your base... Awesome design my dear....
This turned out SO cool, and reminds me of those Scandinavian sweaters my mother used to knit! The stencil looks like knitted stitches! I love how this turned out, I'm a fan :)
LOL ... well I think your 'ugly' sweater is quite nice! What a fun creation Verna ... great idea! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘FEATURED’ challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

Great design, Verna! The background is just a bit busy for my taste--all personal preference, of course!
