Earlier today I watched a video by Karen Hightower from Gina K. Designs where she colored in a floral image using colored pencils. Well, I had not worked with colored pencils for ages so I decided that this would be a new way for me to get my muse working better. So with that in mind I created this card. And I must say that even I am impressed with the way this card turned out.
The lily is from the Gina K. Designs Thank You Friend stamp set. And the sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Elegant Florals 2. I used my Misti and took my kraft card stock and ran an anti-static pad over it and then with Versamark inks stamped the lily image. I then added Gina K. Designs white detail embossing powder and heat set it. Then I took my Prismacolor pencils and colored in the lily. Once the lily was colored the way I wanted it I then took white acrylic paint and mixed it with a bit of water and using a fine brush tapped on some white specks.
This kraft panel was layered onto some Gina K. Designs Plum Punch card stock and then added to the white card base. My sentiment was stamped with Gina K. Designs Plum Punch ink onto white and also layered to some Plum Punch card stock. I wrapped some white and kraft twine around the sentiment panel and added a heart charm. This was then placed also on the kraft panel. The last thing added to the design was a plum colored rhinestone gem.
I will be adding this to the following challenges:

Well, we had another beautiful sunny day with temps in the upper 70's. Yesterday it was chilly but today was much nicer. I hope things are improving for you weather wise too.
God bless,

What a gorgeous card, Verna! I just love the color combination you used of kraft and plum punch. Beautiful job of coloring the lilies. Adding those speckles of white was a perfect touch to finish it off. And the heart charm made your Mother's Day card extra special.
This is GORGEOUS, Verna! Love how the flower pops against the kraft! ❤️
This turned out to be quite lovely with the pencil coloring, and I love the wrapped twine with that little heart charm too! Well done!
Oh Verna, I had to laugh when you said even you were impressed. I sometimes make a card that I can't believe I made, so I know what you mean! This is beautiful and your coloring is perfect. I don't have good luck with pencils so I put them away. You need to leave yours out because you have mastered coloring with them.
SO pretty Verna, I have always loved white embossing and it looks even better on the kraft
Your muse appears to be working fine! You've done such a beautiful job with pencils on kraft. I've still never tried it. The white embossing adds some extra perk to it, and the white splatters help break up the solid kraft background. Very pretty, Verna!
This is beautiful, Verna! You coloured the flowers so nicely and I love the splatters of white.
Beautiful! These colors are perfect on the kraft... so vibrant. Love this!
Absolutely gorgeous, Verna! Love your pencil colouring on kraft! Also love how you added the cute little heart charm!
Beautiful coloring & love the white splatters!
