My original intention was to make Christmas cards but then I realized I did not have enough Easter cards made for my shut-in ministry so I worked on an Easter card instead. I used all dies on my card which was backed up with a background made with my blending brushes and a variety of ink brands.
The dies used for this card are one of three crosses from the Impression Obsession Cross die set. And, I also used a couple cuttings of the Impression Obsession Songbird Branch set. And, the finishing touch was to add the sentiment Easter Joy which is also from Impression Obsession.
I used gold mirror card stock for the cross and the branches were die cut from white card stock and then colored with a mix of my Bic and Crafter's Companion alcohol ink pens. The sentiment was just die cut with black card stock.
I love this cross die and when I recently won a gift code to Impression Obsession this was one of the dies I chose to spend it on. The empty cross to me symbolizes that our Lord Jesus lives! And because He lives we know that we too will be with Him in Heaven one day if we believe. I think Easter is my favorite holiday because of this.
I am entering this in the Dies R Us Challenge #141-Things With Wings.
On a personal note my oldest sister was hospitalized yesterday with Influenza B and pneumonia and I spent a lot of my night in prayer that the Lord would watch over her. Well today her daughter messaged me that she has much improved and if all goes well she will be able to go back to her home in a couple days. She is 88 years old so it was of course a concern due to her age. But even if the Lord did say her time on earth was done I know she was ready and would be just fine. That was a comfort to me too.
I hope all of you are staying healthy and that we all do our part to take care with our normal routines and keep the safe distancing practice and the washing of hands. The schools here are closed and lots of businesses are trying to provide for their employees. If you want to eat out it is recommended you do" take out" or "drive though". But for us we mainly will just stay home more. Anyway, take care everyone.
God bless you,
Verna

Your Easter card is lovely. Love that background coloring you used. Love the cross. I'm sure you are relieved that she is getting better. Great to see you beautiful project, stay safe.
Beautiful card Verna. Love the Cross Die - Perfect for Easter. Prayers were answered for your Sister. God Bless.
A beautiful card Verna, and so nice to see one with the true meaning of Easter portrayed. What a wonderful answer to prayer for your sister.
I won't eat out now - I have plenty at home and love eating fresh from my garden.
Blessings

Quite a beautiful scene you have created, the cross is so pretty!! Have a great day and stay safe!! Prayers for your sister to get well, too!! All our restaurants/bars are closed at least until end of month if not longer.. Won't affect us much since we don't eat out often anyhow.
What a beautiful Easter card, and I like the birds above the cross. Sorry your sister took ill, but I'm so glad to hear she's improving in these difficult times! Take care and stay well!
Whoops, forgot to add, thank you for joining us at Dru with your beautiful card!!

I'm happy to hear that your sister is improving. I know she appreciates your prayers. Even better to hear that if the Lord were to take her she is ready. Your card is beautiful. [Bunny]
Your Easter card is GORGEOUS! I love your gold cross die cut. Glad to hear your sister is improving; praying she continues to get well and is able to return home soon.
So sorry to read about your sister but very happy that she is improving. I so believe in the power of prayer. Your Easter card is lovely; the birds are a nice touch. Stay healthy, Verna. We're staying home more too.
Your granddaughter is darling and I love the look of concentration on her face. She made a very sweet card. Those chickens are so cute. Their expressions crack me up (so to speak) and I love the sentiments! Great job with the Rhode Island Red. That is a fun idea for Twofer. The cross on this card done in gold is stunning. The background is so pretty and made a lovely sky.
Your Easter card is so beautiful. It is so sweet of you to make cards for shut ins. I know they look forward to getting your awesome creations.
A fabulous card with great die cuts and the most perfect Ester card. Sorry to hear about your eldest Sister Verna but so very glad she is on the mend x.
Love the layers and pretty sponged background, Verna. Thanks for sharing with us at Dies R Us Challenge Blog.

How beautiful this is with the birds and your delicate background! I'm so glad your sister is okay, but it's comforting to have faith that all is well no matter what.
Love that background and the dies you used...awesome Easter card! Glad to hear your sister is better.
Everything is pretty much closed over here too. My daughter with type 1 diabetes self quarantined in ND, but my son is in the public as a pharmacist so I worry about him of course. My hubby's office in Fargo is still open, I'm hoping they close soon. It's such crazy and uncertain times. I have not had much mojo as they call it, nor taken much time blogging. Just don't have the umph I guess. But today I decided to visit some blogs and it does help seeing such pretty cards!
Pretty card - love the font of the sentiment a lot
Another beautiful scene! Love the design!
Pretty Easter card Verna, love the cross die
