May Twofers

I finally got my twofers done for the May Twofer Challenge #5 that Darnell Knauss is hosting. The theme this time was butterfly so these are the cards I made using the same butterfly image.

I used a butterfly from the Gina K. Designs Boho Flowers set. That set also has dies so I used them as well.

Not only did I use the butterfly but I also used a sentiment from another Gina K. Designs set called Butterfly Kisses. The Loopy Oval die is from Gina Marie Designs. And, the lovely background paper is done with a new background stamp from Gina K. Designs called Diagonal Stripes. I placed that big stamp in my MISTI to make the background. I flipped the paper to the other direction and then  stamped it in a different color to make a plaid design.  I finished the card by adding some rhinestones.

My second card also used the butterfly stamped image along with a sentiment and die cuts from Gina K. Designs Boho Flowers set but this time I cut the butterfly apart and proceeded to make a flower with it. The Geometric Cutout circle is a die from Impression Obsession. The butterfly before surgery was stamped onto a piece of alcohol inks glossy card stock panel that I had made years ago and recently found. I thought it would be perfect for this card. I finished the flower by adding some blue rhinestones in the center.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day with family as we all went to Perkins to have lunch together and then later gathered at the home of one of my daughters. And, the highlight of the day for all the adults was taking turns holding Jack. He is doing great and was all dolled up for the day too! He seemed to know he was at a special occasion as he was awake and smiling and cooing all the while we were there. So yes indeed, he was a perfect gentleman. I hope your Sunday was a great day too!

Thanks for the visit, lovely comments and you have a great week too.

God bless,
Verna

Oh my gosh ... Jack is ADORABLE! What a happy little guy. And what a lovely way to spend Mother's Day.

Your cards are beautiful Verna! I LOVE the two purple butterflies in that lacy oval. So pretty. And what a great stamp to create the plaid background. Your thinking of you card is so clever and creative with your butterfly flower and pretty edged circle die-cut. Thanks for playing with us at Twofer Card Challenge!

Well, Jack steals the show here, Verna, no question about that! I have been wondering how the little chap is doing and so I thank you for sharing! He really is a cutie pie, I mean, young gentleman!!

You've done it again with your beautiful Twofer designs! I really love the vibrant blues and purples and am impressed with your plaid-making skills! It's a stunning background for that lacy scallop and beautiful sediment! And your unconventional "butterfly flower" would never raise a single eyebrow! The butterfly wing looks perfectly like a flower petal! Your blossom is gorgeous off to the side of your cutout circle with the big bold "you!" (Really love that circle die!) Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #5! Hugs, Darnell

Your twofer cards are both amazing, but I'm dazzled with that purple plaid background you made, as well as using the butterfly wings to make a flower! You are so clever, and so blessed to have such a sweet little boy like Jack in your life. Sweet baby :)

Your grandson Jack is just the most adorable little guy. Don't you love him? I have a grandson Jack too. He has my heart.
You are so amazingly clever on these cards. You would never know that they were using the same die butterfly. Nice job on both.

I never would have thought that flower was made from a butterfly. You're too clever for your britches. Speaking of britches, your perfect gentleman is darling! What a cute, happy fellow! Your plaid background turned out amazing, and I really love the geometric circle die on your butterfly flower card. Well done, Verna!

Such a clever use of the butterfly on your second card and what a vibrant and stunning card. Hope the butterfly is OK after surgery? Just goes to show you should never throw anything out as the alcohol inked glossy card is so perfect as the butterfly flower. Wow on the first card with that wonderful plaid background and the fabulous butterflies and a wonderful sentiment too. Fabulous cards, both of them. What a cutie Jack is and how adorable in his fabulous outfit x

Some awesome GK stamps used on these gorgeous cards, and you've used them so magnificently too. Love the plaid background, with the vivid colors. Again, brilliant idea with the butterfly wings to create the flower for the wreath. So beautiful. And of course the loopy oval die was perfect for the purple butterflies on #1. Good job, Verna. And so enjoyed seeing the picture of Jack. What a little cutie, and he's thriving well. TFS & Hugs

First, I must say, what a handsome little man! So glad you had a great Mother's Day, we did too. Your butterflies are beautiful! I love every detail on your first card from the sentiment to the oval and your stamped plaid background. I've always used those long individual stamps that make one stripe to make stripes and plaids when what I really needed was this diagonal stripe stamp! Your butterfly transformed into a beautiful flower - I love that it has layers! Two fabulous cards for Twofer! Thanks for joining in the fun with us!

Your butterflies look amazing as themselves, and as that pretty flower. And the colors...so rich and vibrant. Love those dies, too. Fantastic cards. Thanks for joining us at the Twofer Challenge.
