Another Experiment with Digis

The idea of having some backgrounds to use for digis got me thinking that perhaps I could make some of my own backgrounds.  So with that thought in mind I went ahead and sponged a background with various shades of inks and then took a photo of it and added it to my Pictures on my computer so that I could grab it whenever I wanted to use for placing Png type of digis on it. So here is the first card I made with my first background I made.

Once again I made a very CAS design  and then colored in the Calla Lilies from Artsystamper which by the way was a freebie Png image from her as a member of her FB gallery page. The sentiment is one I stamped the regular way with an acrylic sentiment stamp, my Misti and some Jet Black Amalgam Ink from Gina K. Designs. The sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink Savior Inspired stamp set.

The second card background used was a photo I took years ago of a satin apron as I did not have much pattern paper and I thought it was so pretty. So I took that photo and enhanced it a bit and that was the background I used for this card. Once again I used the Calla Lilies from Artsystamper.

On both cards I colored the Calla Lilies with my Bic and Sharpie pens. The sentiment on this last card is from a Jillian Vance Design set called Simply Said: Sympathy. And, again I used the GKD Jet Black ink to stamp it. I went with just a hint of yellow here and there so that it would look more like the more familiar white Calla Lilies I usually see.

Well I cleaned as much as I wanted to do and now it is just a wait and see if our company can arrive or not. Snow and strong winds may prevent them coming and also for us to travel to help our grandson Jack celebrate his second birthday. I sure hope we can make it but I guess if not we might have to shoot for another day to celebrate. It is also one of our son-in-law's birthdays too. So we usually do a celebration for both then. So time will tell if it all goes as originally planned. I hope all of you have a great weekend and thanks for coming by to visit my blog and for all the wonderful comments.

God bless,
Verna

You always amaze me, Verna. Converting backgrounds into cards for future use is an awesome time saver! These are both so gorgeous. One has colors that fade into each other and the second has rich and decadent folds. I hope you will be safe in all the wintry weather you are having. With best wishes always :*

Look at you with your original digi backgrounds! Good job!

I guess some people are still having winter. We haven’t really had winter at all, and I have daffodils with buds. It is absolutely unusually warm, and we have had several warm winters in a row now. I kindof miss the snow, although I know that you will be missing your family if you can’t travel.

So clever, Verna! Both ideas are brilliant! I'll have to head over to FB for that freebie and I hope I'm not too late. I don't spend much time on FB. Both cards are gorgeous!

Both of your cards are beautiful. I especially love the sentiment on the first one. The second with the Satin background is fabulous. That was a brilliant idea to use the Satin Apron picture to use for it.

Hard to imagine the weather you're having as it's like spring here except a bit cooler. Very creative backgrounds for your lovely cards! I'm never happy with my photos, so wouldn't work for me.
