Daisies For Mom

My Mom is no longer living but I do make cards for my daughters and daughter-in-law so this was one I made using all of Gina K. Designs stamps and supplies.

I stamped the open line daisies in  yellow and then colored them in with some Sharpie pens. The daisies and sentiment are from the Gina K. Designs Daisy Delight stamp set. The background was done using the Gina K. Designs Petite Flourish stamp. I also used Gina K. Designs large and small rectangle dies. Inks used were Gina K. Designs Sea Glass, Wild Dandelion and Tranquil Teal. The cardstock also was from Gina K. Designs and the colors used were White and Tranquil Teal.

I hope all of you are having a good week. Hard to believe it is close to ending another one too. Time seems to fly by so fast. Take care everyone.

Pink Peony

This afternoon I used the Traditional Peony stamp and die set from Crafter's Companion to make a card that would work for many types of celebrations. I did do a few mistakes on it but I used the parts anyway. Apparently the tape did not hold one of my leaf dies in place and I got off the mark by quite a bit but with a little fussy cutting I still used it and it looks okay to me.

The sentiment is also from that stamp set. I will decide later on what this card will be used for as it would work well for an anniversary, birthday, wedding, graduation or even Mother's Day! I finished it off by adding some dark and light pink gems.

And I am happy to say I found a home for the extra die set for this peony. I hope the recipient will enjoy using it. Thanks for visiting and take care everyone.

April Rudolph Days Challenge

Time has flown by so fast and here it is already the day when the April Rudolph Days Challenge begins. I did not have a card ready so this afternoon I did one with some dies I had purchased a few months ago and had not used yet. I got them from the Cat's Pajamas and they are the Creative Supplies Joy die and the Creative Supplies Snowflake Border die. I used glitter paper and mirror card stock from Crafter's Companion to die cut them out and also made a frame from the mirror card stock using the Maker's Movement Stitched Rectangles Nested Essentials die set.

I used a white card stock base. After I had it all assembled I added the finishing touch of a few gems to follow along the snowflake border design.

We did in fact get a few snowflakes today so it did seem appropriate to work with a design like this. It was a fun project as well.

Thanks for visiting and I hope all are doing well and having a great day!

Question for you

 Hi,

I'm back again. I forgot to ask if anyone owned the Crafter's Companion Traditonal Peony stamp set but did not have the die set to go with it. Reason is I have an extra set of the dies but I don't see any way of using them without the stamp set too. If you own the stamp set, let me know.

Thanks and God bless, Verna

Daffodil Is Up-Giveaway!

Well, I finally got my daffodil up! That is up on my card. It was made using a die set I got in that prize package and it is a Gemini die called Daffodil. It is a layering die set. I tried making it with very light weight printer paper and that did not work as it was too fragile so I learned to use card stock for the design.

This die is double sided meaning you can die cut two portions of the design at once. For the daffodil flower I put one shade of yellow cardstock on one side of the die and then another shade of yellow card stock on the other and then ran it through my machine. Also for the stem it was done the same way with a light green on one side and a dark green on the other side and then you again pass it through the machine. I was surprised that it worked so well with my Crossover die cutting machine.

Once I had it all assembled I placed it on a white card base. I thought that was too plain so I then took another edger die from the set I won and created two strips to go along the edges. Next I added the sentiment which is from a Crafter's Companion stamp set called Traditional Peony. I finished it off with some Stampin' Up enamel dots. I was then satisfied that it looked quite nice. If you look closely you can see where my feeble arthritic fingers did not get the daffodil completely assembled correctly but I think it is good enough that you get the idea.

GIVEAWAY

Now here is what I am giving away. A set of dies just like this one that I used for this card. You guessed it! There were two identical sets in the package so I figured I might as well share the extra one with another crafty person. So all you need to do is comment and then next Friday, April 30th I will draw out the winner. So good luck everyone!

Have a good weekend and see you next week.

God bless, Verna

Wishing You Good Luck! (Winner)

In my box of dies I won was this beautiful Die'sire Edgeable called The Best of Luck! I don't need another graduation card but I just could not resist making a card that would work for that type of card or some other good luck occasion as well! So I am dedicating this to all who entered to win the Stamplorations Card Front set. I will announce the winner at the end of this post.

It was a perfect edger die for a slimline card. I decorated the card with fussy cut images from the Artsystamper Watercolor Florals Card Kit illustrated by Beverly Cole. I layered the three flowers and made it have more dimension. In the center of the flower I added another item from that big box of goodies I won which was Rose Gold Glitter Glue.

I really like this design and that die will be used a lot I am thinking. It cut like a charm too with my die cutting machine. So that was awesome!

Winner Announcement

I put all the names in a bowl and drew out the winner. I am happy to say the winner is Patti J. Please email me with your snail mail address. Mine is arlinverna at tnics dot com

Friendship Thanks

While looking for some other card making supplies I ran across my Rina K. Neon Brights inks and also a stencil from Gina K. Designs called Daisy Chain so it prompted me to work with these inks and stencil to create a note card of friendship. I used my blending brushes and to me there is nothing more soothing then to take a stencil and add patches of various colors over it and be so enthused about the end results. Blending the colors together create new colors. I know I love this look. I hope you do too!

Those neon colors always make me feel so happy and I hope they make you feel that way too. After I let the panel dry a bit as those inks are juicy I then stamped the sentiment and die cut the friend out after stamping it and then used that on the card. The sentiment and die comes from the Gina K. Designs Stitched Leaves Mini stamp kit I purchased several years ago. I still use that kit a lot too!

Thanks so much for your wonderful visits. I enjoy seeing your comments. Take care everyone!

No. 2 Card Front Christmas Design

As soon as I saw this darling snowman design in the Card Front Set 2 from Stamplorations I thought of the verse I placed on it. It is a verse from the Gina K. Designs Holly Jolly stamp set. I love this card design. I added the card front to some Gina K. Designs Red Hot card stock and also used Red Hot ink to stamp the sentiment.

Thanks for the visits. I will enjoy viewing your blog posts too as long as I can. I am so upset with Blogger and their changes. I don't like change and I have no idea how I will be able to view your posts when the new system takes place. It was bad enough when they changed the format earlier this year. I hate to give up blogging! But if it gets too difficult I just might do that.

Take care and have a great day!

Christmas Cards and Give Away

Recently I won a gift certificate to Stamplorations and on their website they featured some card fronts. I chose to buy the A2 size ones in Christmas designs since I usually make 100 or more cards each year to send out. And I thought this would take half of the work out of making them if I used these card fronts. So today I am featuring just one of the designs that came in the packet. I had ordered five packets so I did end up with five cards like this one I am showing. If you are interested check them out at Stamplorations. Mine is the Quick Cards 2 set.

These card fronts are so beautiful. I only added the sentiment and mounted the design to a white card base. They also feature them in slimline designs for Christmas and also carry card fronts for other occasions then Christmas. The sentiment I chose to use is from the Stamplorations Christmas Baubles stamp set. This design could be used in a vertical or horizontal way so it is quite versatile. Also I am sure you could dress it up with glitter or gems but I went the clean and simple route and used it just as it was.

Some other day I will feature another of the designs in the set. But today I just worked on this set. I am so happy with them that I am offering a set of these card fronts as a give away. You see as a thank you I was sent an extra set. So just leave a comment and then on April 20th I will pick a winner by putting the names in a hat.

I have been so fortunate these last few months with getting past this cancer thing, and for receiving so many great prize packages. I wanted to pay it back just a teeny bit. I might do another give away another day.

Thanks for visiting and I wish you a great weekend.

God bless, Verna

Cowboy Graduation Card

This graduation card was made using the school colors of maroon and gold. Also the young man graduating was dressed with western clothing and a cowboy hat and I know his family are really enthusiastic about horses and going on trail rides. So that was the reason I chose to use this theme for his graduation card. I think he will like it and my husband said it was perfect for him.

I used that silhouette public domain image and printed it onto white cardstock. Then I took my blending brushes and added shades of yellow and gold with a hint of light orange. I also tried to make it look like some clouds in the sky too by adding a hint of blue. It was mounted onto a maroon card base but for some reason on my computer it looks more like red. I made this to fit in a 5 x 7 envelope which I found in a rich yellow (almost a golden yellow).

And here is how I did the inside. I used the hats and sentiment from Beccy's Place Digitals Hats Off stamp set.

I hope I inspired you a teeny bit and I hope your day is going well. Thanks for the visit. I see Google is making changes again so I am not sure how that will affect me and my blog. But rest assured I love to see you stop by and leave your comments. They mean a lot to me. Until next time, take care!

Graduation Time

Well the graduation announcements have been arriving of late so I worked on a couple using this same design which I will send to the young ladies graduating. I must confess when I made the digital images design I somehow got one of the graduation caps having part of it missing. Since I had already printed it on the yellow and white gingham paper I decided to go with it anyway and use the old trick of a cover up to take care of the oops! So that is the reason I added those flowers. I like it better this way too! Looks more feminine!

This is a mini slimline card. I used the sentiment and the graduation cap from the Beccy's Place Hats Off set. These were printed onto the gingham paper. Then I also printed out a sheet of water colored images from the Artsystamper Digitals Watercolor Florals Card Making Kit. I chose two of the flowers and fussy cut them out and placed them over the area where I made the "boo boo". Now you can't tell it at all. I also added what was a digital washi tape along one edge to match inside the card. This was included in the kit.

I am sure I will be needing more graduation cards but at least I have two done. These will work great for slipping in a few dollars or a gift card for the recipient.

Most of my week has been spent on the phone and computer doing other jobs. We will be getting fiber-optic service dug in this summer and then next winter it will be installed. So we wanted to be sure and see we got signed up for it before the May deadline. Then after that was done I went to work to see if we could get our landline phone bill reduced so I think that is in the works now too. These things all take time.

Well I am so glad you stopped by. I appreciate your wonderful comments. Until next time take care.

God bless, Verna

More Perfectly Pantone

I had so much fun working with the gray and yellow that I just had to use those colors again. And, in my newly acquired Gemini goodies from Crafter's Companion was this dandelion die and stamp set and also the Happy die and stamp set. For the Happy one I only used the stamps. I colored with some Copics to  just a portion of a couple of the dandelions. I hope you like these sets combined together.

I am also entering this in the Mod Squad Challenge-Perfectly Pantone. Gray and yellow are supposed to be the "in" colors this season.

Well we have sun today and it is a bit warmer then the last few days have been. We love to see sunshine as well as rain so that is good.

Take care everyone and God bless, Verna

Perfectly Pantone

Apparently the colors gray and yellow are perfectly pantone for this year. I think that indicates that these are the "in" colors for this season. At least that was what was said on the Mod Squad Challenge blog. So for the Mod Squad Challenge we are to use gray and yellow. I just had to join in on the fun!

The stamps used on this card are from the Rubbernecker set called Summer Blooms. It is a several steps stamp and I found it easy to use. The scalloped decorative edge is one of the edgers in the same set I have been using lately from Crafter's Companion. I thought the floral type eyelet design  would look okay on this card. I had no gray paper to match except for some metallic dream silver card stock which I felt was close enough to gray. And luckily from using inks from three different companies I found my shades of gray too. After all was assembled the last thing I added was some rhinestones.

Well, happy Friday to all of you. The time has gone so fast again! But I guess when one is busy that often happens. I might slow down a bit today though but I do have all those dies and stamp sets from that Turner Syndrome Crafter's Companion prize calling my name so maybe I will succumb and do some more another day this weekend. So until next time, take care.

God bless, Verna

Mermaid Wishes!

Today I made a card using some already watercolored pre-embossed papers that I acquired some time ago and this paper was in a Prima Marketing Watercolor Pad. I had watercolored it several months ago and then decided I did not like it. But today I thought it might work with this cute little mermaid I got from the Mini Mermaid digital set from Tiddly Inks. So together with some dies and card stock I proceeded to create this birthday card which I think my granddaughter will like. As long as it is mermaids or unicorns she is happy!

I colored the little mermaid with my Copic Markers and then fussy cut it out. The sentiment was computer generated. I tried to make her hair look more like the colors of the rainbow. I am not sure I was too successful but at least I tried.

I am entering this card in the Double D's Challenge-Rainbows, Unicorns and Mermaids. I chose to use the mermaid part of the inspiration photo for my card.

We are still getting a nice slow rain. We have around 4 inches now and I know this is going to be a big boost to any crops that are already planted and those which will be planted later on. We were so dry so this is very welcomed. Only down side for me is my aches and pains in my old bones is a tad worse. Oh, well! I can cope with it for awhile.

Take care and thanks for visiting!

Summer Flowers

I recently acquired some wonderful floral stamps from Rubbernecker Stamps and I was itching to try out the stamps as well as some of the new inks I got also from Rubbernecker Stamps. And, this card was made with these items along with a few other tools to create the card.

A few weeks ago I won a large amount of dies, stamps and other items from the Turner Syndrome hop and I used some of those items on this card. The prize had at least 23 die sets in it plus some stamps and the glitter glue. I used one of the edger dies from a set from Crafter's Companion and also the Rose Gold glitter glue from Crafter's Companion Signature Collection for the center of the flowers.

The pattern paper on both sides of the card was made using an Artplorations stencil called Confetti Circles. I used inks from the Color Fuse line from Rubbernecker to stamp the flowers and also for the stenciling.

The flowers are from the Rubbernecker Summer Meadow stamp set and the sentiment is from the Rubbernecker Summer Bloom stamp set.

I am entering this in the Jan's Digitals April Challenge-Anything Goes.

I really love this card and it looks so much better in person. I know I will be using this watercolor stamp set of flowers a lot. Thanks for visiting and I guess making cards is a good thing to do on rainy days. I am enjoying it too. I finally felt strong enough to lift my big die cutting machine out so that I could die cut larger ones. Before I was just using the cutter to do my panels and fussy cutting a lot. This is much easier now.

Take care and God bless, Verna

Wild Flowers

Yesterday and today I worked on making a few cards and this is one I made using Jan's Digital Wild Flowers stamp set. I used the already colored images and arranged them on my program using the corner design and the vase of flowers. The sentiment is also from the set. I am entering this in the Jan's Digitals April Challenge-Anything Goes.

I thought those pretty flowers were so pretty and I paired it with card stock that I thought  would make the flowers be the highlight of the card. I also added some Altenew enamel drops to the card.

I hope all had a wonderful Easter. I know we did with two of our families joining us. Also we have been getting rain. Two inches over the night hours and it is still raining. We really needed the moisture too! So praise the Lord for his abundance grace and care for us! See you again soon!

God bless, Verna

Explanation and Happy Easter!

Well I almost had a big April Fool's Day joke played on me but thanks to my email provider yesterday I got a glitch worked out with my emails that I was sending out to people. Apparently the signature on my email was interfering with my messages after over nine years usage preventing them reaching their destinations. You see I had my signature hyperlinked so it would go directly to my blog and that was the culprit messing things up.

Well, finally she changed it to where it is no longer hyperlinked and so now it seems any emails I am sending out are being received again. So if you did not hear from me lately this may be why. I know I sent out a lot of emails in the last week and had no clue they were not being delivered until I visited with a friend and wondered why she had not responded back. Well that was why.

At any rate it is April already and I hope we get some rains so we can get the May flowers. We are so dry and in our state of South Dakota there is danger of fires. So we are trying to be extra careful with burning issues. We were very cold the last couple days and nights but I guess for the Easter weekend we will be getting back to the 70's again.

No card making for me but I will try to bring a blast from the past for you to view. This is one I made when on a design team for the now no longer in business Sparkle N Sprinkle. I think I used a rainbow pad to ink up the background. This was in the days when I did not have a Misti so I had to make sure it inked up well before I stamped it to my card stock. I don't think I could handle that anymore without the use of a Misti. I just repeated the sentiment to make the pattern paper. I like the pastel colors.

In fact I have been cleaning. Now I need to do a bit of baking as two of our families will be joining us for Easter Sunday. I hope all of you have a most blessed Easter too. It is such a comfort to know that Jesus died for us and took all our sins upon himself so that we will not perish but have eternal life. Just believe! Jesus lives!

God bless, Verna
