Coffee

Today my card uses a stencil on it for the main design. I got the Artplorations stencil and the stamp set which has the sentiment on it from the Stamplorations line which are designed by Sherry Russ. I am entering this in the 2016 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I am also entering this in Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes Challenge.

This is actually the first card I made for the hop but for some reason I was not satisfied with the look of it with just the sponged design on the card. Then I remembered that my son had given me a coloring book and colored pencils for Mother's Day and I thought perhaps the colored pencils would be the answer to giving me some additional color to the coffee cup design and allow me better control on how the colors would be applied instead of using more sponging of ink or using a marker. And, it did achieve the look I wanted. I applied white to make it look like a cream with the coffee and also some light green to enhance the cup design.

My base card was a rustic orange color but the panel with the stenciled design on it that I applied was a lighter yellow color. The front panel was die cut with a My Favorite Things Die-Namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle die. I also applied some die cut leaves from a pre-sponged fall colored card stock using a Cheery Lynn Designs die to the front of the cup. Then over the top of the steam I stamped the sentiment with black dye ink. The final touch was to add some metallic copper looking dots in each of the upper corners and a yellow panel inside the card.

Supplies used:
Artplorations Coffee Cup stencil from Stamplorations
Stamplorations Clear Stamp set called Coffee Happy
MFT Die-Namics Wonky Stitched Rectangles MFT-839
Cheery Lynn Designs Flourish Leaf Strip B178
Gina K. Designs Dye Inks
Crafters Companion Glue Pen
Scor Pal
Sargent Art Colored Pencils
Mark Richards Metal Sticker Nailheads

I am so glad you could stop by and I just wanted you to know that I appreciate each and every comment too!

God bless,
Verna

Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself?
Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to see
