Well, today's card involves Fall colors and Farming! I recently got a few new stamps that had not seen any inking yet, so today I decided to use more NBUS things. I hope you enjoy this little card and if you are like me, I hope you get a big chuckle from the sentiment too! It certainly made sense to me.
The card base is Gina K. Designs Pure Luxury white card stock. I used a Memento Black ink to stamp the Gina K. Designs sunflower from the Harvest of Wishes set all around the outer edge and then colored them in with Bic Mark-It alcohol ink markers.
The focal image is from Penny Black and is called Life is Simpler. It was also stamped onto white card stock but for that panel I used Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper. I originally was going to water color the image but changed my mind and instead used the Bic Markers for that as well. The image and sentiment were stamped with the Memento black ink too. I sponged on a little Memento Summer Sky ink to make it look more like a sky background. I then layered it to blue card stock before adding it to the main card panel.
The focal image panel was die cut with a Memory Box die called Cross Stitched Frame Borders Style No. 99124. I hope this close up will show the stitching design better.
I am entering this in the following challenges:
Mod Squad Blog Challenge-Color Inspiration-Fall Colors
Double D's Blog Challenge-Down on the Farm
Penny Black And More Challenge-Add a Sentiment
I had time today to finish this card which I had started yesterday. I had my followup appointment for my recent surgery and it took less time then I thought it would. And, therefore I found more time on my hands to do some card making. Oh, and I got a good report too! I am healing nicely and things that did concern me the doctor reassured me were normal. So that was great news!
Thanks always for your lovely comments and I hope all of you are having a great week.
God bless,
Verna
