Thoughts of You

Lately I find myself making more Thinking of You type of cards and then leaving the inside blank. That way I can use it for a number of occasions from celebrations to illness and sympathy. This is one I made today using stamp sets from Kitchen Sink Stamps.

I chose to use a fall leaves design which has a hint of orange in them and I also colored my Gina K. Designs ribbon with orange ink. It was originally a white ribbon. I sponged on some blue for the background after I had stamped the leaves. I also added a few swipes of the orange color here and there as well. I was trying to implement a color scheme from an inspirational photo at Double D Challenges. My leaves were not as orange as I thought they would be as they ended up getting some of the blue ink  onto them when I sponged the background. But I still went along with the design.

The stamp sets from Kitchen Sink Stamps used were 3 Step Autumn Squirrel for the leaves and 3 step Heart & Roses for the sentiment. I used a Cottage Cutz double stitched die to cut out the main card panel and then the blue layer was cut using a die from the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Blueprint 29 set. The card base was white card stock. The finishing touch was to add a few orange rhinestones to the main panel.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

We have a beautiful day here in our part of South Dakota with temperatures in the mid-70's which is fabulous for this time of the year. And, lots of sun! I really like that. I hope your day is going well too and thanks for your visits.

God bless,
Verna

How clever to dye your white ribbon. Before I read that part, I totally thought you had this lovely fall colored ribbon in your stash. Great tip, and a really pretty card. I agree, having them on hand is a realy wise thing to do.

A big thanks for subscribing to my blog! I appreciate it!

Such beautiful Fall leaves. I love the wispy feel of them like they are gracefully falling off the tree to the ground below! Fantastic! Thanks so much for playing along with us at the Double D, Leave It To Me Challenge, Donna, DT Member.

The leaves look authentic and I love that birch looking background. Fun that you can make the ribbon match the color scheme.
